“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Ali (a.s.), did not take anything from legacy of his slaves if they had relatives; and if the relatives were not of those who have the ordained shares, he would distribute the legacy among them (relatives).”

“Muhammad Ibn Abi ‘Umayr Bayya‘ al-Sabiriy died and he made a will to me. He left behind his wife and no other heirs. I wrote to the virtuous servant (of Allah) about it and he (the Imam) wrote to me the answer that said, ‘Give one-fourth to the woman (his wife) and deliver the rest to us.’”

“It is our Wilaya Leadership and Guardianship with Divine Authority. He made a gesture with his hands to his own chest saying Allah will not raise the deeds of those who would not acknowledge our Wilaya.”

4 – Jaʿfar b. Ismāʿīl, al-Munqirī. Kufan. Ḥumayd b. Ziyād and Ibn Ribāḥ narrated from him. He was a ghālī. Liar.

(as-Sayyid ar-Raḍī says:) When Ziyād read this letter he said, “By Allāh he has testified to it.” This point remained in his mind till Mu‘āwiyah claimed him (as his brother by his father).

“I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a widow; if she must complete her waiting period in her home or wherever she wants. He (the Imam) said, ’It is wherever she wants; Ali (a.s.), brought ’Umm Kulthum to his home when ‘Umar died.’”

There are three signs to a son of adultery: (1) Poor treatment [of people], (2) a longing for adultery, (3) and hatred for us, the Ahl al-Bayt.

“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about the case of a woman who is pregnant: if her husband divorces her and she gives birth prematurely or by abortion or it is just a lump. He (the Imam) said, ‘Whatever she gives birth to shows that she was pregnant, complete or not. Her waiting period is complete even if it is a lump.”’

To Ziyād ibn Abīh when Amīr al-mu’minīn had come to know that Mu‘āwiyah had written to Ziyād to deceive him and to attach him to himself in kinship.

“Al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, ‘The sugar chipped with a small hammer dissolves phlegm entirely.’”

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that it is in the book of Ali (a.s.), that every relative is like the kinship and womb that has established such relation unless there is one who is closer to the deceased than him who then becomes a barrier.’”

Messenger of Allah (sw) said: “Whoever dies without ascribing a partner to Allah, will enter Heaven regardless of whether he has done good or evil.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that there is nothing of goodness in neglecting al-Hajj.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that gifts are out of the expenses of al-Hajj.”

“About the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘. . . divorced women must be benefited with fairness; it is a right on the pious ones’, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has stated this Hadith. ‘It is after the end of waiting period, and about, ‘an affluent man and one not-so-affluent each according to their abilities’, he (the Imam) said, ‘Why should he not benefit her during her waiting period when she hopes and he hopes that Allah by His will may make something good to happen for them? An affluent man must benefits his woman with servant and one not affluent, benefit with wheat, (dates), raisins, clothes and dirham. Al-Hassan ibn Ali (a.s.), benefited the woman he divorced with a slave-girl. He (the Imam) benefited all the women he divorced.’” Humayd ibn Ziyad has narrated from ibn Sanaa ‘ah from Muhammad ibn Ziyad from Mu’awiyah ibn ‘Ammar from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a similar Hadith except that he has said, ‘Al-Hassan ibn Ali (a.s.), would benefit his women with slave-girls.’”

“I once heard abu al-Hassan (a.s.), saying, ‘Al-Maysir is gambling.’”

The excellence of performing Salah (prayer) in the center of the rows over that in the left is like the excellence of performing Salah (prayer) in congregation over performing Salah (prayer) alone individually.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’If one uses a ring of turquoise his palm does not become poor.’”

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘Eating fresh fish melts the body.’”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: There is not a faster who attends to a people who are eating except that his appendages glorify [Allah]. The angels bless him, and their blessings are a repentance for him.
