“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Performing salat (prayer) in the Masjid of the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, is equal to ten thousand salat (prayer).”’

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: One Salāt in the Mosque of the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) is equal to ten thousand Salāt elsewhere.

“‘Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that you should perform salat (prayer) in complete form in four places: You should perform salat (prayer) in complete form in Masjid al-Haram (the Sacred Masjid), the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah, the grand Masjid of al-Kufa and in the shrine of al- Husayn (a.s.).’”

“Mu‘awiyah ibn Wahab, holding my hand, said to me, ‘Abu Hamzah holding my hand said to me, “Asbagh ibn Nubatah holding my hand showed me the seventh pillar and said, ‘This is the station of ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.) He (the narrator) has said, ‘Al-Hasan ibn Ali (a.s.), would perform Salah (prayer) near the fifth pillar. When ’Amir al-Mu’minin passed away, al-Hasan (a.s.), performed Salah (prayer) at that place and it is from the side of Kindah door.’”

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, has made zakat as means of living for the needy and to increase your properties.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about al-Biya‘ and churches if they can be changed into Masjid. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is possible.’”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: One Salāt in the Mosque of Madīnah is better than one thousand Salāt in any other mosque.

“I once asked abu Ibrahim (a.s.), about performing Salat (prayer) in reduced form in Makkah. He (the Imam) said, ‘You should perform in complete form; but it is not obligatory, except that I like for you what I like for myself.’”

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Sitting in the Mosque in al- ‘ Ihtiba ’ posture, (knees folded with thighs against the belly by a piece of cloth or by one’s arms) is the wall of Arabs.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Three characteristics subject one to condemnation: Defecating in the shadows which are used as rest areas, obstructing people from reaching water for public use or public road.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘What was the area of the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘It was three thousand six hundred square yards.’”

“I asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘What was the size of Masjid of the Messenger of Allah?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘It was three thousand and six hundred square yards.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘We may happen to be in Makkah or al-Madinah or al-Hirah, or in such places where there is hope that there is a degree of excellence for being there. If one goes out for Wudu’, can, in such case, another person come and occupy his place?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘If one finds a place he is more deserving of it for a day and night than others.’”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Sitting in the mosque waiting for the prayer is worship for one who does not nullify. It was said: O Messenger of Allah! What is the nullifier? He said: Backbiting.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the limit of al-Rawdah in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, is to the edge of the shadows. The limit of the Masjid is up to two pillars from the right side of the pulpit up to the pathway in front of the night Suq (market).”

Hadith.1287 - Ismail ibn Jabir reported: “I said to Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as): "The time for prayer enters while I am traveling, so I do not pray until I return home." Imam (as) said: "Pray and complete the prayer." I said: "The time for prayer enters while I am at home and I intend to travel, so I do not pray until I have departed." Imam (as) said: "Pray and shorten the prayer, for if you do not, you have opposed the Messenger of Allah (sw)”.

He heard Aba Ja`far al-Baqir (as) say: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: I have been given five things that were not given to anyone before me: (1) The Earth has been made a pure place of prostration (masjid) for me, (2) spoils have been permitted to me, (3) I have been supported by fear, (4) I have been given comprehensive language (jawami` al-kalim), and (5) I have been granted the ability to intercede.

It is the property that Allah gives to an affluent person who pays a thousand or two or three or less or more to keep good relations with relatives or relieve the burdens of his people.’”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: He whose speech is the Quran and whose home is the mosque, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise.

“Once we found lodging in a place. Between this place and the Masjid there were dirty passageways. I visited abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.). He (the Imam) asked, ‘Where have you found lodging?’ I replied, ‘It is the house of so and so.’ He (the Imam) or we said, ‘Between that house and Masjid there are unclean passageways.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful, certain parts of earth cleanse other parts.’ I (the narrator) asked, ‘What happens if I step on wet dung?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Such things are not harmful.’”
