“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Do not quarrel; it eliminates your brilliance and do not play jokes; people grow rude and daring against you.”

"None consume from lost property except those who are themselves lost."

Everything in this book that is narrated from Sulayman ibn Hafs Al-Marwazi has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Abi Abdullah Al-Barqi, from Sulayman ibn Hafs Al-Marwazi.

“When the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, gave Fatimah, Alayha al-Salam, in marriage and people said, ‘We wish her prosperity and sons, but he (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘No, we wish for her goodness and blessings.’”

And whatever is narrated from Abu Hashim Al-Jafari, I have narrated it from Muhammad ibn Musa ibn Al-Mutawakkil - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Ali ibn Al-Husayn Al-Saʿdaʾbadi, from Ahmad ibn Abi Abdillah Al-Barqi, from Abu Hashim Al-Jafari.

“This is concerning my question before him (the Imam) (a.s.), if one can marry a Jewish or a Christian woman as a second wife, the first being a Muslim woman. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, but a Muslim woman can become a second wife, the first being a Jewish or a Christian woman.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘When woman becomes old both parts of her goodness vanish and both parts of wickedness remain. Her beauty goes and she becomes barren and her tongue becomes very sharp.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the manner of walking during Tawaf around the Ka‘bah as to how fast or how slow should I walk. He (the Imam) replied, ‘Walk moderately in between the two kinds of walking.’” (Fatwa best explains the following chapters).

men are of three kinds: a man by his wealth, a man by his position, and a man by his tongue (good speaker), and he is the best of the three.

“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who kills a lion in al-Haram (the sacred area). He (the Imam) said, ’He owes one ram.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If a man allows intercourse to take place in a woman’s anus without discharge of semen, Ghusl (bath) is not necessary on neither one of them, but if he discharges, Ghusl (bath) is necessary on him but it is not necessary on the woman.’”

“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about a people who make al-Qufzan (measuring devices) small with which they sell. He (the Imam) said, ‘They are of the people who cause losses in their belongings.’”

Hadith.323 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "Combing the hair removes ailments," referring specifically to fever. In a narration by Ahmad ibn Abi Abdullah al-Barqi, it is stated: 'It removes fatigue,' meaning weakness. Allah (swt), the Exalted, said: 'And do not slacken in My remembrance,' (Surah Taha 20:42) meaning do not become weak.

Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, said: The overcoming is the one who overcomes with goodness, and the overcome is the one who overcomes with evil, and the believer is harnessed.

“He (Allah) dominates all things small or big.”

When Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) would enter a graveyard, he would say: Salām upon the people of Paradise.

Everything in this book that narrates the incident where a group of Jews came to the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and asked him various questions - including when they asked: "O' Muhammad, for what reason do you perform ablution on these four limbs?" and similar questions - has been transmitted by me from Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdullah Al-Barqi - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from his father, from his grandfather Ahmad ibn Abi Abdullah, from his father, from Abu Al-Hasan Ali ibn Al-Husayn Al-Barqi, from Abdullah ibn Jabala, from Mu'awiyah ibn Ammar, from Al-Hasan ibn Abdullah, from his forefathers, from his grandfather Al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon them.

“No scholar (Imam) has ever died before Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, would grant him the knowledge of to who must he deliver his will.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that he (the Imam) said to him (the narrator), ‘O so and so, reduce the expenses of al-Hajj; you will be more motivated for al-Hajj. You must not be an over- spender; that will reduce your interest in performing al-Hajj. ‘“
