Hadith.4004 - Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim narrated from Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) from his father, Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as), that Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) disliked the sale of meat in exchange for live animals.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), disliked exchange of meat for animals.”

"Hoarding (Ihtikar) applies only to wheat, barley, dates, raisins, ghee, and oil."

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Monopolization (Hoarding) of goods in public demand applies to wheat, barley, dates, raisins and cooking butter only.’”

"There is no harm in a Salam contract with a specified measure and a fixed time, but it should not be made conditional upon threshing or harvesting."

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ‘Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘Advance payment for a merchandise is not harmful if it is for known measures and appointed time. Advance payment is not made except for threshing and the time of harvest.’”

"Whatever is collected by one of them is shared between them, and whatever is lost is also shared between them."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘If one sells palm trees which he has pollinated, its dates belong to the seller unless the buyer stipulates otherwise. Ali (a.s.), then said that this is how the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, judged a case.’”

“Once a man asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘If I see something in the hand of a man can I testify that it belongs to him?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, you can do so.’ The man then said, ‘I can testify that it is in his hand but how can I testify that it belongs to him, perhaps it belongs to someone else ? 5 He (the Imam) asked, ‘Is it lawful to buy it from him?’ The man replied, ‘Yes, it is lawful to buy it from him.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), then said, ‘It perhaps belongs to someone else; then how it becomes lawful for you to buy it from him and how can it become of your belongings? How after taking possession can you say that it belongs to you, you can swear and it would be unlawful to ascribe its ownership to one from whose possession its ownership is transferred to you?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Had it been as you said, the Muslims could never establish a market.”’

The Messenger of Allah (SA) passed by some hoarders. He ordered them to take the goods they were hoarding to the market, so that hey could be seen. It was said to the Messenger of Allah (SA), “It would be better if you had fixed a price on them.” He (SA) became so angry that it became apparent on his face, He said: “I should fix prices? Verily, the price is with Allah, the Mighty and High. He may raise it if He wills, and He may drop it if He wills.” It was said to the Messenger of Allah (SA), “If you had fixed prices for us (it would be better), because the prices rise and drop.” He (SA) replied, “I would never meet Allah, the Mighty and High, with an innovation which was not revealed to me. Leave the servants of Allah, so that some of them may eat from the others.”
