مهدي بن أبي الحرب: قال الشيخ الحر في تذكرة المتبحرين (1013): " السيد الجليل أبو جعفر مهدي بن أبي الحرب الحسيني المرعشي: كان عالما، فاضلا، فقيها، ورعا، يروي عن الشيخ أبي علي بن محمد بن الحسن الطوسي، عن أبيه، وروى عن جعفر ابن محمد بن أحمد الدوريستي، عن أبيه محمد، عن محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن بابويه، كما في كتاب الاحتجاج وغيره ". أقول: هو من مشايخ الشيخ الطبرسي، ذكره في أول كتاب الاحتجاج، ووصفه بالسيد العالم العابد.
