مسعود بن سعد: أبو سعد الجعفي، كوفي، من أصحاب الصادق عليه السلام، رجال الشيخ (403). روى الصدوق - قدس سره - عن أبي أحمد الحسن بن عبد الله بن سعيد العسكري، قال: أخبرنا أبو أسيد أحمد بن محمد بن أسيد الأصبهاني، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن يحيى الصوفي، قال: حدثنا أبو غسان، قال: حدثنا مسعود بن سعد الجعفي وكان من خيار من أدركناه - الحديث -. الخصال: الجزء (1)، باب الثلاثة أشد ما يتخوف على أمتي ثلاثة أشياء، الحديث (214). وروى الشيخ عن أبي عمرو عبد الواحد بن محمد بن عبد الله بن محمد ابن مهدي، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن سعيد بن عبد الرحمن بن عقدة، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن يحيى، قال: سمعت أبا غسان يقول: ما رأيت في جعفى أفضل من مسعود بن سعد وهو أبو سعد الجعفي. الأمالي: الجزء العاشر، الحديث (55). أقول: قد يستدل بهاتين الروايتين على حسن الرجل، ولكن الروايتين ضعيفتان، فإن رواة الحديثين مجاهيل، على أن أبا غسان لا يعتد بمدحه فإنه مجهول، ولا يبعد أنه من العامة.
