محمد بن عثمان أخو حماد: ذكر العلامة في الخلاصة في القسم الأول (188) من الباب الأول، من حرف الميم، عن ابن عقدة، عن علي بن الحسن، أنه ثقة. وقال ابن داود (1418) من القسم الأول: " محمد بن عثمان، أخو حماد (قد) عن (عين) ثقة ". (إنتهى). أقول: لم يذكر لحماد أخ يسمى بمحمد، وإنما ذكر النجاشي عبد الله أخاه، وذكر الكشي أخويه جعفرا والحسين، وقد تقدم في ترجمة حماد، وعلى تقدير ثبوت ذلك، فلم تثبت وثاقته، فإن طريق العلامة وابن داود إلى ابن عقدة، مجهول.
