فرات بن إبراهيم: ابن فرات الكوفي، صاحب التفسير المعروف، المقصور على الروايات عن الأئمة الهداة عليهم السلام، وقد أكثر فيه من الرواية عن الحسين بن سعيد الكوفي الأهوازي، نزيل قم، والمتوفى بها، الذي كان من أصحاب الإمام الرضا والجواد والهادي عليهم السلام.. وكذلك أكثر فيه من الرواية عن جعفر بن محمد ابن مالك البزاز الفزاري الكوفي المتوفي في حدود سنة (300). وكذلك أكثر من الرواية عن عبيد بن كثير العامري الكوفي المتوفي سنة (294). ويروي التفسير عن فرات، والد الشيخ الصدوق، وهو أبو الحسن علي بن الحسين بن بابويه المتوفي سنة (329). وأما الشيخ الصدوق، فيروي في كتبه عنه كثيرا، إما بواسطة والده، أو بواسطة شيخه الحسن بن محمد بن سعيد الهاشمي. الذريعة: الجزء 4، ص 298. روى عن محمد بن إبراهيم، وروى عنه أبو القاسم الحسيني. تفسير القمي: سورة المطففين، في تفسير قوله تعالى: (كلا إن كتاب الفجار لفي سجين).
