عمر بن شجرة: الكندي الكوفي: من أصحاب الصادق عليه السلام، رجال الشيخ (467). روى الصفار، عن أحمد بن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، عن أبيه، عن عبد الله بن بكير، عن زرارة، قال: كنت أنا و عبد الواحد بن المختار وسعيد بن لقمان ومعنا عمر بن شجرة الكندي، عند أبي عبد الله عليه السلام، فقال أبو عبد الله عليه السلام: من هذا؟ فقالا له: عمر بن شجرة، وأثنينا عليه وذكرنا من حاله وورعه، وحبه لاخوانه، وبذله، وصنيعه إليهم، قال: فقال لهما أبو عبد الله عليه السلام: ما أرى لكما علما بالناس، إني لاكتفي من الرجل باللحظة إن ذا من أخبث الناس، أو قال من شر الناس، قال: فكان عمر بعد، ما نزع من محرم لله إلا ركبه. بصائر الدرجات: الجزء 6، باب 9، أن الأئمة يعرفون من يدخل عليهم بالخير والشر، والحب والبغض، الحديث 3. وذكر ابن شهرآشوب هذه القصة عن جابر بن يزيد الجعفي في شأن عمر ابن سختة الكندي.
