علي بن عمر بن علي: ابن الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب المدني: من أصحاب الصادق عليه السلام، رجال الشيخ (286). روى محمد بن يعقوب، عن أحمد بن مهران، عن محمد بن علي، عن يعقوب ابن جعفر الجعفري، قال: حدثني إسحاق بن جعفر، قال: كنت عند أبي يوما فسأله علي بن عمر بن علي، فقال: جعلت فداك إلى من نفزع ويفزع الناس بعدك؟ فقال: إلى صاحب الثوبين الأصفرين... الحديث. الكافي: الجزء 1، باب الإشارة والنص على أبي الحسن موسى عليه السلام 71، الحديث 5. أقول: الرواية تدل على أنه كان من الشيعة الإمامية، خاضعا لما يقوله الصادق عليه السلام، لكن الرواية ضعيفة بأحمد بن مهران، ويعقوب بن جعفر.
