علي بن الحسين بن حماد: قال الشيخ الحر في تذكرة المتبحرين (544): " الشيخ كمال الدين أبو الحسن علي بن الحسين بن حماد الليثي الواسطي: فاضل، فقيه، زاهد، من مشايخ ابن معية، ونقل الشيخ حسن أن السيد غياث الدين عبد الكريم بن طاووس إجازة إجازة، قال فيها: استخرت الله وأجزت للأخ في الله، العالم، الفاضل، الصالح، الأوحد، الحافظ، المتقن، الفقيه، المحقق، البارع، المرتضى، كمال الدين، فخر الطائفة علي بن الشيخ الإمام الزاهد بقية المشيخة شرف الدين الحسين بن حماد بن أبي الخير الليثي نسبا، الواسطي مولدا، أن يروي عني... إلى آخر كلامه ".
