9. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Ali ibn ‘Atiyyah who has said the following
“He had seen a soiled letter of abu al-Hassan al-Rida (a.s.).”

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Husayn ibn ‘Atiyyah from ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Tawil who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Whenever a servant (of Allah) prays and pleads before Allah for help, (the will of) Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High, is in fulfilling his needs, provided he is not in (big) haste.’” Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Husayn ibn ‘Atiyyah from ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Tawil from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) a similar Hadith.
1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الطَّوِيلِ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا دَعَا لَمْ يَزَلِ الله تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فِي حَاجَتِهِ مَا لَمْ يَسْتَعْجِلْ. مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) مِثْلَهُ.

الْفَجْرُ هُوَ الَّذِي إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُ مُعْتَرِضاً كَأَنَّهُ بَيَاضُ سُورَى.

1. Ali Ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Mahbub from Malik Ibn ‘Atiyah from Abu Hamza that Ali Ibn al-Husayn (as) said
"There can be no deed (a'mal) without intention (niyyah)."
1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ (عليه السلام) قَالَ
لا عَمَلَ إِلا بِنِيَّةٍ.

الصُّبْحُ هُوَ الَّذِي إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُ مُعْتَرِضاً كَأَنَّهُ بَيَاضُ سُورَى.

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) إِذَا قَطَّعُوا الأرْحَامَ جُعِلَتِ الأمْوَالُ فِي أَيْدِي الأشْرَارِ.

7. Muhammad and others have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Ali ibn ‘Atiyyah from Hisham ibn Ahmar who has said the following
“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), would say to Musadif, ‘Proceed toward your honor, meaning thereby place of business, the market place.’”
7- مُحَمَّدٌ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ أَحْمَرَ قَالَ
كَانَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ لِمُصَادِفٍ اغْدُ إِلَى عِزِّكَ يَعْنِي السُّوقَ.

2. Ibn Mahbub has narrated from Malik ibn ‘Atiyah from Sa’id al-A’raj from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“The strongest ring of belief to hold onto is to love for the sake of Allah and hate for the sake of Allah, to give for the sake of Allah and deny for the sake of Allah.”
2ـ ابْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الأعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
مِنْ أَوْثَقِ عُرَى الإيمَانِ أَنْ تُحِبَّ فِي الله وَتُبْغِضَ فِي الله وَتُعْطِيَ فِي الله وَتَمْنَعَ فِي الله.

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, when he was asked about the income from eulogies, ‘She can make it lawful by tapping one of her hands against the other.’”
4- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ عُذَافِرٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) وَقَدْ سُئِلَ عَنْ كَسْبِ النَّائِحَةِ قَالَ تَسْتَحِلُّهُ بِضَرْبِ إِحْدَى يَدَيْهَا عَلَى الأخْرَى.

16. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu as from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah who has narrated the following
“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about the case of a man who gives a gift to his mother and she dies. She had taken the gift away from him in her possession. He (the Imam) said, ‘He and the other heirs are the same in dealing with that item.’”
16- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَعْطَى أُمَّهُ عَطِيَّةً فَمَاتَتْ وَكَانَتْ قَدْ قَبَضَتِ الَّذِي أَعْطَاهَا وَبَانَتْ بِهِ قَالَ هُوَ وَالْوَرَثَةُ فِيهَا سَوَاءٌ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Ahmad ibn Muhammad all from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from Malik ibn ‘Atiyyah from abu Hamzah al-Thumaliy who has said the following
“Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), has said, ’Of the people among you with whom Allah is most happy, is the one who improves the quality of life of his family the most.”
1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَأَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ جَمِيعاً عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِما السَّلاَم) قَالَ
أَرْضَاكُمْ عِنْدَ الله أَسْبَغُكُمْ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ.

10. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from al-Hassan ibn ‘Atiyyah from ’Isma‘il ibn Jabir who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one uses his comb seventy times and counts it one by one, Satan will not come close to him for forty days.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( صلوات الله عليه ) قَالَ
مَنْ سَرَّحَ لِحْيَتَهُ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً وَ عَدَّهَا مَرَّةً مَرَّةً لَمْ يَقْرَبْهُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْماً .

5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from al-Hassan ibn ‘Atiyyah from ‘Adhafir al-Sayrafiy who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), asked, ‘Do you see those who are born with deformities?’ I replied, ‘Yes, I see them.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is because their fathers go to bed with their wives during their experiencing Hayd (menses).”’

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) تَرَى هَؤُلاءِ الْمُشَوَّهِينَ خَلْقُهُمْ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ هَؤُلاءِ الَّذِينَ آبَاؤُهُمْ يَأْتُونَ نِسَاءَهُمْ فِي الطَّمْثِ.

وَدِدْتُ وَالله أَنِّي افْتَدَيْتُ خَصْلَتَيْنِ فِي الشِّيعَةِ لَنَا بِبَعْضِ لَحْمِ سَاعِدِي النَّزَقَ وَقِلَّةَ الْكِتْمَانِ.

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلا دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ وَأَغْلَقَ بَابَهُ أَكَانَ يَسْقُطُ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ.

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) لَيْسَ لِلْمَرْأَةِ أَنْ تَصُومَ تَطَوُّعاً إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ زَوْجِهَا.

“It is of the moral behavior of believers to spend proportionately to their standard of living, raise such standards to what is possible, fairness to people and initiation in offering the greeting of peace.”

مِنْ أَخْلاقِ الْمُؤْمِنِ الإنْفَاقُ عَلَى قَدْرِ الإقْتَارِ وَالتَّوَسُّعُ عَلَى قَدْرِ التَّوَسُّعِ وَإِنْصَافُ النَّاسِ وَابْتِدَاؤُهُ إِيَّاهُمْ بِالسَّلامِ عَلَيْهِمْ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from certain persons of his people from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Muhammad ibn ‘Atiyyah who has said the following
“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has chosen farming and plantation for His prophets so that they will not dislike the drops falling from the sky.”’
1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ اخْتَارَ لأنْبِيَائِهِ الْحَرْثَ وَالزَّرْعَ كَيْلا يَكْرَهُوا شَيْئاً مِنْ قَطْرِ السَّمَاءِ.

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Almost every time Jibril (Gabriel) on coming to me would say, “O Muhammad, guard (your) anger against men and animosity for them.’”

قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) مَا كَادَ جَبْرَئِيلُ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَأْتِينِي إِلا قَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ اتَّقِ شَحْنَاءَ الرِّجَالِ وَعَدَاوَتَهُمْ.
