عثمان بن علي: ابن أبي طالب عليه السلام أخو أبي الفضل العباس من أمه وأبيه، قتل يوم الطف بين يدي أخيه الحسين عليه السلام، ذكره المفيد في الارشاد: في فصل في أسماء من قتل مع الحسين عليه السلام، وقبله. وذكره ابن شهرآشوب في المقتولين في الطف، وذكر رجزه: إني أنا عثمان ذو المفاخر * شيخي علي ذو الفعال الطاهر هذا حسين سيد الأخاير * وسيد الصغار والأكابر بعد النبي والوصي الناصر ثم قال: رماه خولي بن يزيد الأصبحي على جنبه فسقط عن فرسه وجز رأسه رجل من بني أبان بن حازم. المناقب: الجزء 4، باب إمامة أبي عبد الله الحسين بن علي عليهما السلام، فصل في مقتله عليه السلام. ووقع التسليم عليه في زيارة الناحية المقدسة.
