“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), commanded us to take Ghusl (bath) from Fakhkh before entering Makkah.”

“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about the case of semen that pollutes one’s clothes. He (the Imam) said, ‘You must wash all of your clothes when you do not know exactly the polluted spot, regardless, if it is a little or large area.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One who believes in Allah and in the Day of Judgment must not send his wife to a bathhouse.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, about one’s foreplay and Ghusl (bath). He (the Imam) said, ‘There is Ghusl (bath) obligatory if semen discharge takes place.’”

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah kissed ‘Uthman ibn Maz’un after his death.”

“I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who does not experience any wet dream but he finds wet spots on his thigh and his clothes. Is Ghusl (bath) necessary for him? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, Ghusl (bath) is necessary.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of semen’s coming in contact with one’s clothes. He (the Imam) said, ‘If you know the place of contact wash it clean; but if you do not know, wash all of it clean.’”

“I once asked abu al-Hassan, al-Awwal (a.s.), about a miscarried child whose body is complete if Ghusl (bath) is necessary as well as al-Lahad (a horizontal or vertical) ditch in the grave). He (the Imam) said, ‘All of such things are necessary.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a woman who experiences in her dream what a man does. He (the Imam) said, ‘If she experiences discharge Ghusl (bath) is necessary on her; if there is no discharge, Ghusl (bath) is not necessary.’”

foiiowing: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘I may take Ghusl (bath) in a place which is used for taking Ghusl (bath) due to sexual matters, and urination and water-drops sprinkle from the ground into the water container.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a woman who takes Ghusl (bath) because of sexual relation; then she finds man’s semen after Ghusl (bath). He (the Imam) said, ‘No, Ghusl (bath) is not necessary again.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), if a nude person during pouring water on him can look at his own private parts, or water can be poured on him or he can look at the private parts of others. He (the Imam) said, ‘My father disliked all of it on the part of everyone.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, has said in His book, ‘Cleanse My house for those who perform Tawaf, and Ttikaf, those who do Ruku‘ and those who do Sajdah therein.’ (22:28) A servant (of Allah) should not enter Makkah without cleansing, washing his perspiration and so on and without purification.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When you arrive at Bi’r Maymun or Bi’r ‘Abd al- Samad, then take Ghusl (bath), take off your sandals and walk barefoot with calmness and dignity.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who experiences sexual relation and has enough water only for his drinking needs; must he take Tayammum or Wudu’? He (the Imam) said, ‘Tayammum is better. You should understand the fact that the task of cleansing is made only half as much in his favor.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who dies and there is no one to give him Ghusl (bath) except women. He (the Imam) said, ‘His wife can give him Ghusl (bath) or a woman of his relatives and other woman can just pour water from behind the cloth.’”

“Once abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about rubbing with flour after lime. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’ I then said, ‘They think it is misuse of flour.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Use of things for the benefit of body is not a misuse. I sometimes ask for bleached flour mixed with oil and rub. Misuse is when one’s belongings are destroyed and the body is harmed.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who experiences a wet dream and takes Ghusl (bath) before urinating then something comes out. He (the Imam) said, ‘He must take Ghusl (bath) again.’ I then asked what happens if such thing happens to a woman. He (the Imam) said, ‘She does not need a Ghusl (bath) again.’ I then asked, ‘What is the difference?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘A discharge from a woman is because of man’s discharge.’”

“When abu Ja‘far passed away abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), commanded (his people) to light a lamp in the house where he lived until abu ‘Abd Allah passed away. Thereafter abu al-Hassan did a similar thing in the house where abu ‘Abd Allah lived until he was taken to Iraq and thereafter I do not know what happened.”

“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about using a bathhouse. He (the Imam) asked, ‘Do you want to take a bath?’ I replied, ‘Yes, I like to take a bath.’ He (the Imam) commanded to warm up the bathhouse. He then entered in it and wore a loincloth, which covered from his belly button down to his knees. Then he commanded the owner of the bathhouse to apply on him (lime or oil) on what was not covered by the loincloth. Then he (the Imam) asked him to move away. He (the Imam) then applied with his hand on the area under the loincloth and said, ‘This is how you must take a bath.’”
