4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Aban ‘Uthman from ’Isma‘il ibn al-Fadl who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not proper for men to wear silk, except during the time of war.’”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
لَا يَصْلُحُ لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يَلْبَسَ الْحَرِيرَ إِلَّا فِي الْحَرْبِ .

12. Hamid ibn Ziyad has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Muhammad al-Asadi from Ahmad ibn al-Hassan al-Maythami from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘It is undesirable ( makruh ) to read Chapter 112 in one breath.”’
12ـ حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الأسَدِيِّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْمِيثَمِيِّ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يُكْرَهُ أَنْ يُقْرَأَ قُلْ هُوَ الله أَحَدٌ بِنَفَسٍ وَاحِدٍ.

10. It is a narration from him (narrator of previous Hadith) by Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Washsha’ from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from Yahya’ ibn abu al-‘Ala’ who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, “Salah (prayer) at noontime is Salah (prayer) of repenting people.’””
10ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي الْعَلاَءِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) صَلاَةُ الزَّوَالِ صَلاَةُ الأوَّابِينَ.

hadith 694
By this isnad from Ahmad b. Muhammad from `Uthman b. `Isa from Wahb from Shihab b. `Abd Rabbih from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as). He said
Whoever says "Allah knows" regarding something that he does not know, the Throne shakes out of the greatness of Allah.
13 - وبهذا الاسناد، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن عثمان بن عيسى، عن وهب، عن شهاب بن عبد ربه، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام)، قال
من قال الله يعلم، فيما لم يعلم، اهتز العرش إعظاما له (3).

14. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ‘Amr ibn ‘Uthman from Muhammad ibn ‘Adhafir from ‘Umar ibn Yazid who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Optional Salah (prayer) is like present; whenever given is accepted.’”
14ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُذَافِرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
قَالَ اعْلَمْ أَنَّ النَّافِلَةَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْهَدِيَّةِ مَتَى مَا أُتِيَ بِهَا قُبِلَتْ.
hadith 2217
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn Sinan from al-‘Ala’ ibn al-Fudayl and Hammad ibn ‘Uthman who has said the following
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Look in your heart, if it dislikes your friend, one of you has done something (wrong).”’
1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ وَحَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ انْظُرْ قَلْبَكَ فَإِذَا أَنْكَرَ صَاحِبَكَ فَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمَا قَدْ أَحْدَثَ.

Hadith.5545 - Ibn Abi Umayr narrated from Muhammad ibn Abi Hamzah and Husayn ibn Uthman from Ishaq ibn Ammar from Abu Abdullah (as), regarding a man who died, and some of his heirs acknowledged a debt owed by the deceased to another man. Imam (as) said
"That acknowledgment is binding upon the share of the one who made the acknowledgment."
5545 - وَ رَوَى اِبْنُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ وَ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ
فِي رَجُلٍ مَاتَ فَأَقَرَّ بَعْضُ وَرَثَتِهِ لِرَجُلٍ بِدَيْنٍ فَقَالَ "يَلْزَمُهُ ذَلِكَ فِي حِصَّتِهِ".

hadith 1187
When ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Affān was surrounded, ‘Abdullāh ibn al-‘Abbās brought a letter to Amīr al-mu’minīn from ‘Uthmān in which he expressed the desire that Amīr al-mu’minīn should leave for his estate Yanbu‘ so that the proposal that was being mooted out for him to become caliph should subside. ‘Uthmān had this request earlier also. Upon this Amīr al-mu’minīn said to Ibn al-‘Abbās:
ومن كلام له (عليه السلام) قاله لعبد الله بن العباس وقد جاءه برسالة من عثمان وهو محصور يسأله فيها الخروج إلى ماله بينبع ليقل هتف الناس باسمه للخلافة، بعد أن كان سأله مثل ذلك من قبل. فقال (عليه السلام):

4.ʿUthmān ibn ʿĪsā narrated from Samāʿah who said
“I heard Abā ʿAbdillāh (a) say, ‘Remain patient in obeying Allah, and remain patient in keeping away from disobeying Allah, for indeed this world is short lived; that which has passed from it is [such that you find neither joy nor sorrow for it now, while that which has not yet come is] [1] unknown to you, so remain patient in the present moment that you are in, and it will be as though you have been granted [its reward].’”
عثمان بن عيسى عن سماعة قال
سمعت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام يقول: اصبروا على طاعة الله واصبروا من معاصي الله فإنما الدنيا ساعة فما مضى منها فلست تعرفه فاصبر على تلك الساعة التي أنت فيها وكانت قد أعطيت.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘Testimony of women about the crescent is not admissible, only the testimony of two just witnesses is accepted.’”
4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ صَلَوَاتُ الله عَلَيْهِ لا تَجُوزُ شَهَادَةُ النِّسَاءِ فِي الْهِلالِ وَلا تَجُوزُ إِلاَّ شَهَادَةُ رَجُلَيْنِ عَدْلَيْنِ.

16. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from abu al-Mighra’ who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When banu Israel offered an offering, a fire would come out to consume the offering of those who were accepted. Allah has replaced that offering with Ihram.’”
16ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله قَالَ
كَانَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ إِذَا قَرَّبَتِ الْقُرْبَانَ تَخْرُجُ نَارٌ تَأْكُلُ قُرْبَانَ مَنْ قُبِلَ مِنْهُ وَإِنَّ الله جَعَلَ الإِحْرَامَ مَكَانَ الْقُرْبَانِ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from abu al-Maghra’ who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Allah, most Blessed, most High, has made the affluent to share their wealth with the needy people; thus, they must not share it with others (affluent ones).”’
3ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
إِنَّ الله تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَشْرَكَ بَيْنَ الأغْنِيَاءِ وَالْفُقَرَاءِ فِي الأمْوَالِ فَلَيْسَ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَصْرِفُوا إِلَى غَيْرِ شُرَكَائِهِمْ.

16. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman who has said the following
“’Isma’il prepared food for a ceremony and abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), said to him, ’You must pay attention to the destitute to satisfy their hunger. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, says, “Falsehood is not served first or revisited for service.” (34:49)”’
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ
أَوْلَمَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَلَيْكَ بِالْمَسَاكِينِ فَأَشْبِعْهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ وَ ما يُبْدِئُ الْباطِلُ وَ ما يُعِيدُ .

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The best of women who ever rode a camel on their wedding to the house of their husband are the women of Quraysh who are most compassionate to their children and are the best of them for their husband. 5 ”
1- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) خَيْرُ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ الرِّحَالَ نِسَاءُ قُرَيْشٍ أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى وَلَدٍ وَخَيْرُهُنَّ لِزَوْجٍ.

32. Ahmad ibn Muhammad from has narrated from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from abu Zuhrah from ‘Umm al-Hassan who has said the following
“Once, ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), passed by and asked, ‘What are you doing O ‘Umm al- Hassan?’ I replied, ‘I am spinning to make yarn.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘That is a very sweet way of earning’ -or that he said- ‘of the sweetest way of earning.’”
32- أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي زُهْرَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ
مَرَّ بِيَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فَقَالَ أَيَّ شَيْ‏ءٍ تَصْنَعِينَ يَا أُمَّ الْحَسَنِ قُلْتُ أَغْزِلُ فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهُ أَحَلُّ الْكَسْبِ أَوْ مِنْ أَحَلِّ الْكَسْبِ.

hadith 748
1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from abu Ayyub al-Khazzaz who has said the following
“I once heard abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ’Do not swear by Allah, regardless, you are truthful or not truthful; Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, says, “Do not swear by Allah unnecessarily.’” (2:224)”
1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْخَزَّازِ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ لا تَحْلِفُوا بِاللهِ صَادِقِينَ وَلا كَاذِبِينَ فَإِنَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ وَلا تَجْعَلُوا اللهَ عُرْضَةً لأيْمانِكُمْ.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ya’qub ibn Yazid from Ja’far al-Ahwal from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa who has said the following
“I once asked al-Rida’ (a.s.), about a man who receives an amount to perform al-Hajj but he gives it to someone else. He (the Imam) said, ’It is not harmful.’”
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ الأَحْوَلِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى قَالَ
قُلْتُ لأَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) مَا تَقُولُ فِي الرَّجُلِ يُعْطَى الْحَجَّةَ فَيَدْفَعُهَا إِلَى غَيْرِهِ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِهِ.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Husayn ibn ‘Uthman from a man who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that one who leaves Makkah with an intention not to return to Makkah again, (must take notice that) his death has come very near as well as torment for him/”
2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ وَهُوَ لا يُرِيدُ الْعَوْدَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَدِ اقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُ وَدَنَا عَذَابُهُ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from Sa‘id ibn Yasar who has said the following
“I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man to whom Zakat is given for distribution, if he can take a certain amount for himself. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, can do so.’”
1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لأَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) الرَّجُلُ يُعْطَى الزَّكَاةَ يَقْسِمُهَا فِي أَصْحَابِهِ أَ يَأْخُذُ مِنْهَا شَيْئاً قَالَ نَعَمْ.
