عبد الله بن الحسين التستري: قال السيد التفريشي: " شيخنا وأستاذنا [الامام] العلامة المحقق المدقق، جليل القدر، عظيم المنزلة [دقيق الفطنة كثير الحفظ]، وحيد عصره [وفريد دهره]، أورع أهل زمانه، ما رأيت أحدا أوثق منه، لا تحصى مناقبه وفضائله، صائم النهار قائم الليل، وأكثر فوائد هذا الكتاب وتحقيقاته منه جزاه الله عز وجل أفضل جزاء المحسنين، له كتب منها شرح قواعد الحلي " (إنتهى). وقال الشيخ الحر في تذكرة المتبحرين (463): " مولانا عبد الله بن الحسين التستري كان من أعيان العلماء والفضلاء والثقات، روى عن الشيخ نعمة الله ابن أحمد بن محمد بن خاتون العاملي، عن الشيخ علي بن عبد العالي العاملي الكركي، مات سنة (1021) ".
