“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Camphor is for hunut.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about applying Woad. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful to an old man ."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Paradise is made unlawful for a pimp.”’

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Maintain good relations among yourselves, do good to one another, be compassionate and lenient to each other.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Prayer, pleading before Allah for help, is more effective than spears of iron.’”

“A councilor cannot lie (is not supposed to).”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Ghee is a very fine sauce.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Wash your clothes clean because of urine of all inedible animals.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that it is not advisable to sit in front of al-Ka‘bah in an Ihtibah positions (holding one’s knees against one’s belly by forming a ring around them with one’s arms or a piece of cloth).”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one has missed fasting of the month of Ramadan, for good reasons, it is better to make its Qada’ (compensatory fast) in continued order; but in different times is also valid and it is not harmful.’”

“I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), that I drove the offering animal and performed al- Qiran al-Hajj. He (the Imam) said, ‘Why did you not perform al-Hajj al-Tamattu‘ (advantageous) which is more virtuous?’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘It is sufficient for you in it to perform one Tawaf around the House and one Sa‘y between al-Safa’ and al-Marwah.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Perform Tawaf around al-Ka‘bah on the day of sacrifice.’” (The rest of Ahadith in this as well as the following Chapters are best explained in the form of fatwa).

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who owes a certain amount of debts and he is a Mu‘sir (unable to pay). Can I arrange for him to buy something from a man for an appointed time and guarantee in his favor so he can pay his debts (with the item just purchased for him) to me and then pay back what he owes? He (the Imam) said, ‘It is lawful.’”

“About the case of a woman who is pregnant and is divorced, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Her waiting period ends with childbirth and he must pay for her maintenance until she gives birth.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about my hunting with a flareless arrow and it kills. He (the Imam) said, ‘If it is cut into two pieces then throw away the smaller piece and use the larger one for food. If both are equal then use both.’”

“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about a man who is in a hurry. What is sufficient for him in optional Salah (prayer) for recitation?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Three Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects) for recitation, one for Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees), and one for Sujud (prostrations).”’

“Once I asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Can a man bury his son?’ He replied, ‘He does not bury him in the soil.’ I (the narrator) then asked, ‘Can a son bury his father?’ He replied, ‘Yes, there is no offense in it.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One who reads Tasbih of Fatimah al-Zahra’, ‘Alayha al- Salam, after an obligatory Salah (prayer) and before moving his legs away from his position Allah forgives him and he should begin with al-Takbir (Allahu Akbar).”’

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Islam is bare. Its dress is bashfulness, dignity is its ornament, virtuous deeds are its kindness and strict following of law is its support. Everything has a foundation. The foundation of Islam is loving us, Ahl al- Bayt .’” Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ali ibn Ma’bad from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Qasim from Murik ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.): a similar Hadith.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) once sent one of his slaves for a certain work and he delayed. The Imam then went out to find why he has delayed so much. He found him sleeping. He sat near his head fanning to comfort him until he woke up. When he fully woke up, Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) said to him, ‘O so and so, Allah knows, you are not supposed to do this. You sleep night and day. The night is for you to sleep and your day is for us.’”

“If kindheartedness goes away from a family, goodness departs them also.”
