عبد علي بن جمعة: قال الشيخ الحر في تذكرة المتبحرين (449): " الشيخ الجليل عبد علي بن جمعة العروسي الحويزي ساكن شيراز: كان عالما، فاضلا، فقيها، محدثا، ورعا، شاعرا، أديبا، جامعا للعلوم والفنون، معاصرا، له كتاب نور الثقلين في تفسير القرآن أربع مجلدات، أحسن فيه وأجاد، نقل فيه أحاديث النبي والأئمة عليهم السلام في تفسير الآيات من أكثر كتب الحديث ولم ينقل فيه عن غيرهم، وقد رأيته بخطه واستكتبته منه، وله شرح لامية العجم، وله شرح شواهد المغني أيضا لم يتم وغير ذلك ".
