hadith 502
Huziqat ibn Mansoor narrated that Imam Sadiq (a.s) said
“Do not do something for your believing brother that harms you more than it helps him.” Ibn San'an said: “This means that if, for example, someone has a great debt and you have a little bit of property, do not try to use your property to pay back his debt. This will end up in you losing your property and will also still leave him in debt.”
عن حذيفة بن منصور عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال
لا تدخل لأخيك في أمر مضرته عليك أعظم من منفعته له. قال ابن سنان: يعني أن الرجل يكون عليه دين كثير ولك مال قليل فتؤدي عنه فيذهب مالك ولا تكون قضيت دينه.

hadith 887
2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Najran from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the only people who are interrogated in the grave are those whose belief or disbelief is absolute and total, and people other than these are left alone.”
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
إِنَّمَا يُسْأَلُ فِي قَبْرِهِ مَنْ مَحَضَ الإِيمَانَ مَحْضاً وَالْكُفْرَ مَحْضاً وَأَمَّا مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ فَيُلْهَى عَنْهُمْ.

6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ‘Ubayd Allah al-Dihqan from Durust from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that once a man complained before the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, about loneliness and fear. He (the Messenger of Allah) commanded him to keep a pair of pigeons in his house.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الدِّهْقَانِ عَنْ دُرُسْتَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
شَكَا رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) الْوَحْشَةَ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ فِي بَيْتِهِ زَوْجَ حَمَامٍ .

hadith 214
4. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ali b. Majluwayh who said it was narrated to me by my uncle Muhammad b. Abi al-Qasim from Ahmad b. Abi Abdillah from al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from Fadhalah from Abdillah b. Sinan from al-Sadiq (a.s.) who said
“The smell of the mouth (breath) of a fasting person is dearer to Allah than the fragrance of musk.”
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مَاجِیلَوَیْهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَمِّی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِی الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَهَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ ع قَالَ
خُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَفْضَلُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رَائِحَهِ الْمِسْکِ.

6. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla ibn Muhammad from al- Hassan ibn Ali from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from a man from Banu Hashim who has said the following
“If four things are found in a person his Islam is perfect, even though he may be filled with sins from his head to his toes it will not harm him. They consist of Truthfulness, Bashfulness, Good Moral Behavior and Thankfulness.”
6ـ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَ
أَرْبَعٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ كَمَلَ إِسْلامُهُ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ قَرْنِهِ إِلَى قَدَمِهِ خَطَايَا لَمْ تَنْقُصْهُ الصِّدْقُ وَالْحَيَاءُ وَحُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ وَالشُّكْرُ.

9. Abu Ali al-Ash’ari has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from ibn Faddal from Ali ibn ‘Uqbah from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) a similar Hadith with the following addition
“When injustice is done to you in an oppressive condition, be happy with My support; My support for you is better than your own support for yourself.”
9ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام)
مِثْلَهُ وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَإِذَا ظُلِمْتَ بِمَظْلِمَةٍ فَارْضَ بِانْتِصَارِي لَكَ فَإِنَّ انْتِصَارِي لَكَ خَيْرٌ مِنِ انْتِصَارِكَ لِنَفْسِكَ.

17. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “
One who helps an unjust against his victim, the Almighty Allah will be enraged upon him till the time he stops helping him.”

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ مَنْ أَعَانَ ظَالِماً عَلَی مَظْلُومٍ لَمْ یَزَلِ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِ سَاخِطاً حَتَّی یَنْزِعَ مِنْ مَعُونَتِهِ.

“Mahdi is a man from the progeny of Fatima. He is of wheaten complexion.”

4. Mohammed bin Ali Majilwayh, May Allah have mercy upon him, narrated to us from his uncle Mohammed bin Abi al-Qasim from Mohammed bin Ali al-Kufi from Mohammed bin Sinan from al-Mufaddhal bin Umar that Imam as-Sadiq (a) said
"He who claims being one of our Shia while adhering to the rope of others has lied."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ مَاجِيلَوَيْهِ رَحْمَةُ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي اَلْقَاسِمِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ اَلْكُوفِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ اَلْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
قَالَ اَلصَّادِقُ ع كَذَبَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ مِنْ شِيعَتِنَا وَ هُوَ مُتَمَسِّكٌ بِعُرْوَةِ غَيْرِنَا.

3. My father and ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain both narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad, from Muḥammad ibn Sinān, from Ismā’īl ibn Jābir, who said
I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: I swear to Allāh that the descendants of the killers of Ḥusain (a.s.) will be killed for the acts of their fathers.

2. A number of our people has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Barqi from his father from ‘Abdullah ibn Mughirah and Muhammad ibn Sinan from Talha ibn Zayd from abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) about this verse.
“Do not scornfully turn your face away from people. .” (31:18) ‘so that people would all be equal in matters of knowledge.’”
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي هَذِهِ الايَةِ وَلا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ
لِيَكُنِ النَّاسُ عِنْدَكَ فِي الْعِلْمِ سَوَاءً.

hadith 976
1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “O Mufaddal! One who clashes with an oppressive ruler without any cause, will not be saved in his bad times and even his patience will not serve him as his sustenance.”

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَا مُفَضَّلُ إِنَّهُ مَنْ تَعَرَّضَ لِسُلْطَانٍ جَائِرٍ فَأَصَابَتْهُ بَلِیَّهٌ لَمْ یُؤْجَرْ عَلَیْهَا وَ لَمْ یُرْزَقِ التَّصَبُّرَ عَلَیْهَا.

6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Sinan from abu al-Jarud who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, about the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘The food of the people to whom the book was given is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them.’ (5:5) He (the Imam) said, ‘It is grains and vegetables.’”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ طَعامُ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتابَ حِلٌّ لَكُمْ وَ طَعامُكُمْ حِلٌّ لَهُمْ فَقَالَ ( عليه السلام ) الْحُبُوبُ وَ الْبُقُولُ .

10. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “
Surely proud people will be reduced to the size of small ants on the Day of Judgment and people will ridicule them till Allah concludes accounting of all the people.”
وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ عَنْ أَخِیهِ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ إِنَّ الْمُتَکَبِّرِینَ یُجْعَلُونَ فِی صُورَهِ الذَّرِّ یَتَوَطَّأُ بِهِمُ النَّاسُ حَتَّی یَفْرُغَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الْحِسَابِ.

20. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Sinan from Yunus ibn Ya’qub from ‘Abd al-‘A’la’ ibn ‘A‘yan who has said the following
“I was told about abu Ja‘far (a.s.), that he disliked two kinds of transactions: ‘Drop the merchandise without turning its other side and receive payment’, and ‘buying merchandise without seeing’.”
20- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الأعْلَى بْنِ أَعْيَنَ قَالَ
قَالَ نُبِّئْتُ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَنَّهُ كَرِهَ بَيْعَيْنِ اطْرَحْ وَخُذْ عَلَى غَيْرِ تَقْلِيبٍ وَشِرَاءَ مَا لَمْ يُرَ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has narrated the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the kind of witnesses whose testimony is rejected. He (the Imam) said, ‘Of such people are a pessimist and an accused.’ I then asked, ‘What about a sinful and a treacherous one?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Such ones are included in “pessimist”.”’
1- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) مَا يُرَدُّ مِنَ الشُّهُودِ قَالَ فَقَالَ الظَّنِينُ وَالْمُتَّهَمُ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَالْفَاسِقُ وَالْخَائِنُ قَالَ ذَلِكَ يَدْخُلُ فِي الظَّنِينِ.

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from his father from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Mufaddal ibn ‘Umar who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A believer must not humiliate himself.’ I then asked, ‘In what way can he humiliate himself?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘He can do so by involving himself in things that he cannot do.’”
5- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ مُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) لا يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يُذِلَّ نَفْسَهُ قُلْتُ بِمَا يُذِلُّ نَفْسَهُ قَالَ يَدْخُلُ فِيمَا يَتَعَذَّرُ مِنْهُ.

hadith 653
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from b Sinan who has narrated the following
“This is about the case of a man who bears testimony to the testimony of another witness but then the man says that he had not appointed him as witness. Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The testimony of the one who is more just is admissible but if such man of justice is one man then his testimony is not acceptable because of fairness for both.’”
1- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام)
فِي رَجُلٍ شَهِدَ عَلَى شَهَادَةِ رَجُلٍ فَجَاءَ الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ لَمْ أُشْهِدْهُ فَقَالَ تَجُوزُ شَهَادَةُ أَعْدَلِهِمَا وَلَوْ كَانَ أَعْدَلُهُمَا وَاحِداً لَمْ تَجُزْ شَهَادَتُهُ عَدَالَةً فِيهِمَا.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Isma’il ibn Marrar from Yunus from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “The Imam was asked about the case of a man who writes to a chief officer of Majus and begins with the name of the chief before his own name. The Imam said, ‘
It is permissible if it is for seeking favors.’”
2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مَرَّارٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَكْتُبُ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ عُظَمَاءِ عُمَّالِ الْمَجُوسِ فَيَبْدَأُ بِاسْمِهِ قَبْلَ اسْمِهِ فَقَالَ
لا بَأْسَ إِذَا فَعَلَ لإخْتِيَارِ الْمَنْفَعَةِ.
