“About the case of a man, who borrows one hundred dinars and leaves as al-Rahn (security deposit) jewelries worth one hundred dinars, then comes to al-Rahn (security deposit) holder and asks him to lend him the gold which he has with him. Al-Rahn (security deposit) holder lends it to him and it is destroyed; if he owes anything to the man who has left al-Rahn (security deposit) with him. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is on the one who left al-Rahn (security deposit) because he is the one who destroyed it and al-Rahn (security deposit) holder does not owe anything, not even a grain.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘My father purchased a piece of land and stipulated with the owner to pay him wariq (dirham) and dinar for ten dirham.”’

“I began to live in al-Jabal (a town between Baghdad and Azarbayjan) and I did not believe in Imam (the Divine authority of al-Mahddi (a.s.) but I loved them (descendants of Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (a.s.). When Yazid ibn ‘Abdallah (a representative of al-Mahdi (a.s.) died he said in his will that I must give his Shahri Samand (famous Persian) horse, sword and belt to his master (al-Mahdi (a.s.). I was afraid that if I would not give the horse to Edhkutakin (a Turkish official of ‘Abbassid rulers) he will harm me. I by myself then evaluated the items for a seven hundred Dinars and no one knew about it. A letter then came from Iraq that said, “Send us our seven hundred Dinars that are with you for the Shahri (famous Persian horse), the sword and the belt.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once said to his son, Muhammad, ‘Son, how much is left with you of that (money) for expenses?’ He replied, ‘Forty dinars are left.’ He said, ‘You should go out and give it away as charity.’ The son said, ‘No more money is left with me besides this.’ The Imam said, ‘You should give it as charity, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, will replace it. Have you not noted that for everything there is a key, and the key to greater means of sustenance is giving charity, so give it as charity.’ The son followed the instruction. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), waited for only ten days until he received four thousand dinars from a certain place. He then said, ‘Son, we gave Allah forty dinars and He has given us four thousand dinars.’”

the one who had two Dinars is given a Dinar and the remaining Dinar is divided between the both of them equally.

“I requested abu Muhammad for something that I needed. He scratched the earth with his whip. The narrator has said that I think he then covered it with a handkerchief and then took out five hundred Dinars. He then said, “O abu Hashim take it and grants us pardon.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), bought a stumper for one hundred dinar in his own honor.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Once the amount of gold becomes more than twenty dinar then on every four dinar Zakat is one out of ten dinar.’”

"The owner of the two dinars should be given one dinar, and the remaining dinar should be divided equally between them."

“Once we left with abu Ja‘far (a.s.), to Ard of Taybah (name of a place between Makkah and al-Madinah) and ‘Amr ibn Dinar was with him (the Imam) as well as other ones of his people. We stopped at Taybah as long as Allah willed, and abu Ja‘far rode a difficult camel. ‘Amr ibn Dinar said, ‘Your camel is very difficult.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘You must take notice that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said the following. ‘On the peak of every camel there is a Satan, so you must degrade and make him lowly by mentioning the name of Allah on it because He is Allah who carries loads.’ He (the Imam) then entered Makkah and we also entered Makkah without assuming the state of Ihram (because of entering before the passing of a month from his previous Ihram).”’

Ali ibn Al-Husayn, Muhammad ibn Ali, Ja'far ibn Muhammad, and Musa ibn Ja'far (peace be upon them all). Although there are many transmission routes to him, I have sufficed with mentioning only one of them.

“Once we were in the presence of abu al-Hassan (a.s.), while in front of him there were certain pieces of dinars. He (the Imam) looked at one piece and picked it up and broke it into two pieces. He (the Imam) said to me, ‘Throw it in the trash so an adulterated thing is not purchased anymore.’”

“About the case of a man who marries a woman but he does not go to bed with her and she claims that her mahr (dower) is one hundred dinar while the husband says that it is fifty dinar and there is no witness, abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘The words of the husband are accepted on oath.’”

I heard Ibn Abi Layla say, "In the pre-Islamic era, the blood money (diyyah) was one hundred camels, and the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) affirmed it. Then he imposed on the people of cattle two hundred cows, on the people of sheep one thousand sheep, and on the people of garments one hundred garments." Abd Al-Rahman said: 'I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about what Ibn Abi Layla narrated, and Imam (as) said: "Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) used to say: 'The blood money is one thousand dinars, and the value of a dinar is ten dirhams. For the people of gold, it is one thousand dinars; for the people of silver, it is ten thousand dirhams; for the people of the cities, it is ten thousand; for the people of the deserts, the blood money is one hundred camels; and for the people of the villages, it is two hundred cows or one thousand sheep.'"

“This is concerning a question before abu al-Hassan, Musa (a.s.), in my presence, about the case of a man who marries a woman for one hundred dinar with the condition that she will go with him to his town. If she will not go with him to his town her mahr (dower) will be fifty dinar. He (the Imam) said, ‘If he wants to take her to the lands of pagans, then such condition is not valid and the one hundred dinar belongs to her which is her mahr (dower) but if he wants to take her to the lands of the Muslims within the Muslim domain then the condition is valid in his favor; Muslims must stand by their conditions. He cannot take her out of her town without first paying her mahr (dower) or make her agree with whatever amount, it then is permissible.’”

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘On every two hundred dirham of silver Zakat is five dirham, and on less than two hundred Zakat is not due. On every twenty Dinar of gold half dinar is Zakat and on less than this Zakat is not due.’”

"O Abdullah, there is no Eid for the Muslims, whether Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Fitr, except that it brings renewed sorrow to the family of Muhammad." I asked: "Why is that?" Imam (as) replied: "Because they see their right in the hands of others."

He must stand by his condition.’”

“One year badanah became very expensive in Mina’, so much so that one badanah sold for one hundred dinar. Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), was asked about it and he (the Imam) said to share it. I asked, ‘For how many people it is sufficient?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘The lighter the better.’ I asked, ‘For how many?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘For seventy.’”

I asked Imam (as) about a man who slapped another man on his face, and the slap caused the skin to turn black. Imam (as) said: "If the slap causes the skin to turn black, the compensation is six dinars. If it turns green, the compensation is three dinars. If it turns red, the compensation is one and a half dinars. For the same injuries on the body, the compensation is half of that amount."
