In Al-Mahasin it is narrated that Imam Sadiq (a.s) said
“Seclusion is a form of worship, but staying at home is a man’s smallest fault.”

8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from af-Husayn ibn abu Najran from Safwan al-Jammai who has said the
foiiowing: “Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), once led us in al-Maghrib Salah (prayer) and recited al- Ma’udhatayn in two Rak’at.”
8ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ الْجَمَّالِ قَالَ
صَلَّى بِنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) الْمَغْرِبَ فَقَرَأَ بِالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ.

7. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ishaq from Bakr ibn Muhammad al-Azdiy who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The outstanding quality of the beginning of time for Salah (prayer) compared with the end of time for Salah (prayer) is better for a man than his children and belongings.’”
7ـ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الأزْدِيِّ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) لَفَضْلُ الْوَقْتِ الأوَّلِ عَلَى الأخِيرِ خَيْرٌ لِلرَّجُلِ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ وَمَالِهِ.

Hadith.992 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said to Ammar ibn Musa: "O’ Ammar, I will sum up all forgetfulness for you in two words: Whenever you are in doubt, follow the majority (the greater number). When you finish your prayer, complete what you thought you may have missed”.
992 - وَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ لِعَمَّارِ بْنِ مُوسَى: «يَا عَمَّارُ أَجْمَعُ لَكَ اَلسَّهْوَ كُلَّهُ فِي كَلِمَتَيْنِ مَتَى مَا شَكَكْتَ فَخُذْ بِالْأَكْثَرِ فَإِذَا سَلَّمْتَ فَأَتِمَّ مَا ظَنَنْتَ أَنَّكَ قَدْ نَقَصْتَ.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from al-Hajjal from Tha’labah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Everyone has an enthusiasm and every enthusiasm has a decline. Tuba (a tree in paradise) is for those whose decline is toward a constructive side.’”
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَجَّالِ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) لِكُلِّ أَحَدٍ شِرَّةٌ وَلِكُلِّ شِرَّةٍ فَتْرَةٌ فَطُوبَى لِمَنْ كَانَتْ فَتْرَتُهُ إِلَى خَيْرٍ.

hadith 1013
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ‘Umar ibn ’Udhaynah from Zurarah from who has said the following
“I once was sitting in the presence of abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), and Humran ibn ’A‘yan was also present. Humran asked him (the Imam), ‘What do you say about the words of Zurarah with which I do not agree?’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), asked, ‘What are they?’ Humran said, ‘Zurarah says that the time for Salah (prayer) was delegated to the Messenger of Allah. He was the one who determined them.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), asked, ‘What do you (Humran) say about it?’ I (Humran) said, ‘ Jibril came to him (the Holy prophet) on the first day with the first time and on the last day with the last time. Jibril then said, ‘In between there are times for Salah (prayer).’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), then said, ‘O Humran, Zurarah says that Jibril came to the Messenger of Allah only to give him an indication. Zurarah is right. Allah left it to Muhammad, O Allah grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, who made the determination. Jibril provided him with an indication about it.’”
1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ قَاعِداً عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) أَنَا وَحُمْرَانُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ فَقَالَ لَهُ حُمْرَانُ مَا تَقُولُ فِيمَا يَقُولُ زُرَارَةُ وَقَدْ خَالَفْتُهُ فِيهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) مَا هُوَ قَالَ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّ مَوَاقِيتَ الصَّلاَةِ كَانَتْ مُفَوَّضَةً إِلَى رَسُولِ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) هُوَ الَّذِي وَضَعَهَا فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) فَمَا تَقُولُ أَنْتَ قُلْتُ إِنَّ جَبْرَئِيلَ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) أَتَاهُ فِي الْيَوْمِ الأوَّلِ بِالْوَقْتِ الأوَّلِ وَفِي الْيَوْمِ الأخِيرِ بِالْوَقْتِ الأخِيرِ ثُمَّ قَالَ جَبْرَئِيلُ (عَلَيْهِم الْسَّلام) مَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَقْتٌ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) يَا حُمْرَانُ إِنَّ زُرَارَةَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ جَبْرَئِيلَ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) إِنَّمَا جَاءَ مُشِيراً عَلَى رَسُولِ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) وَصَدَقَ زُرَارَةُ إِنَّمَا جَعَلَ الله ذَلِكَ إِلَى مُحَمَّدٍ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فَوَضَعَهُ وَأَشَارَ جَبْرَئِيلُ (عَلَيْهِم الْسَّلام) بِهِ عَلَيْهِ.

16. Ahmad ibn Idris has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from Ya’qub ibn Yazid from Muhammad ibn abu Hamzah from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When performing Salah (prayer) with them (other people) it is sufficient to recite like speaking to one’s soul.’”
16ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) يُجْزِئُكَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ مَعَهُمْ مِثْلُ حَدِيثِ النَّفْسِ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from abu Jamilah from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High, has said, “O My truthful servants, enjoy the blessings of worshipping Me in this world; you will enjoy its benefits in the next life.’””
2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ الله تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَا عِبَادِيَ الصِّدِّيقِينَ تَنَعَّمُوا بِعِبَادَتِي فِي الدُّنْيَا فَإِنَّكُمْ تَتَنَعَّمُونَ بِهَا فِي الآخِرَةِ.

hadith 1084
Hadith.1089 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "Do not place women in upper rooms (ghuraf), nor teach them writing, nor teach them Surah Yusuf. Teach them spinning (al-mighzal) and Surah al-Nur." And when a woman makes the tasbih (glorification of God), She should knot her fingers, for they will be questioned on the Day of Judgment.
1089 - وَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: «لاَ تُنْزِلُوا اَلنِّسَاءَ اَلْغُرَفَ وَ لاَ تُعَلِّمُوهُنَّ اَلْكِتَابَةَ وَ لاَ تُعَلِّمُوهُنَّ سُورَةَ يُوسُفَ وَ عَلِّمُوهُنَّ اَلْمِغْزَلَ وَ سُورَةَ اَلنُّورِ. فإذا سبحت المرأة عقدت على الأنامل لأنهن مسؤولات يوم القيامة.

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Ammar or ibn Wahab who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘For every Salah (prayer) there are two kinds of timings and the outstanding one is the beginning of time.’”
4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ أَوِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ وَقْتَانِ أَوَّلُ الْوَقْتِ أَفْضَلُهُمَا.

12. Ahmad ibn Idris has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Hamid from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from Mansur ibn Hazim who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You must not read less than a Surah (Chapter) in an obligatory Salah (prayer) or more.’”
12ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) لاَ تَقْرَأْ فِي الْمَكْتُوبَةِ بِأَقَلَّ مِنْ سُورَةٍ وَلاَ بِأَكْثَرَ.

23. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-’Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about a man who leads people in Salah (prayer) and makes a mistake. He (the Imam) said, ‘Those behind him open it up for him (help to correct him).”’
23ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ
سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَؤُمُّ الْقَوْمَ فَيَغْلَطُ قَالَ يَفْتَحُ عَلَيْهِ مَنْ خَلْفَهُ.

26. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from Dawud ibn Farqad from Sabir Mawla’ Bassam who has said the following
“Once, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), led us in al-Maghrib Salah (prayer). He read al-M‘udhatayn (chapters 113, 114) and said that they are of al-Quran.’”
26ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ عَنْ صَابِرٍ مَوْلَى بَسَّامٍ قَالَ
أَمَّنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الله فِي الصَّلاَةِ الْمَغْرِبِ فَقَرَأَ الْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هُمَا مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ.

5. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Zakariya from Aban from Safwan al-Jammal who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), performed with us al-Dhuhr and al-‘Asr Salah (prayer) after the sun declined (toward the west at noontime), with one Adhan and two ‘Iqamah, and said, ‘I need to do something, so you can perform optional Salah (prayer).”’
5ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ الْجَمَّالِ قَالَ
صَلَّى بِنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ عِنْدَ مَا زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ بِأَذَانٍ وَإِقَامَتَيْنِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي عَلَى حَاجَةٍ فَتَنَفَّلُوا.

1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says, “The excellence of prime time over the last moments for a believer is more than his children and his wealth.”
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ بَکْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِیِّ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَضْلُ الْوَقْتِ الْأَوَّلِ عَلَی الْأَخِیرِ [خَیْرٌ] لِلْمُؤْمِنِ [مِنْ] وُلْدِهِ وَ مَالِهِ

7. It is a narration from him (narrator of previous Hadith) by af-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Safwan ibn Yahya from ibn Muskan from Isma’if ibn ‘Ammar from abu Basir who has said the following
“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’Performing an obligatory Salah (prayer) is more virtuous than performing one Hajj. Performing one Hajj is more virtuous than giving in charity one whole house full of gold.’”
7ـ عَنْهُ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) صَلاَةٌ فَرِيضَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ عِشْرِينَ حَجَّةً وَحَجَّةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ بَيْتٍ مَمْلُوءٍ ذَهَباً يُتَصَدَّقُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى يَفْنَى.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father in a marfu’ manner from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“Once, abu Hanifah went to see abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.). On his arrival he said, ‘I saw your son Musa perform Salah (prayer) while people passed by in front of him; but he did not stop them and it is questionable.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), asked to call Musa. He was called and he asked, ‘Son, abu Hanifah says that you were performing Salah (prayer) and people passed by in front of you, but you did not stop them.’ He replied, ‘Yes, O father, the One for whom I was performing Salah (prayer) was closer to me than people passing by in front of me. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, says, “We are closer to him than the jugular vein.’” (50:16) The narrator has said that he (the Imam) then embraced him and then said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep me and my mother in service for your cause, O reservoir of secrets.’ (Imam’s response is to show the significance of Salah (prayer) not to compromising any excellence.)”
4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَفَعَهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ
دَخَلَ أَبُو حَنِيفَةَ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) فَقَالَ لَهُ رَأَيْتُ ابْنَكَ مُوسَى (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) يُصَلِّي وَالنَّاسُ يَمُرُّونَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَلاَ يَنْهَاهُمْ وَفِيهِ مَا فِيهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) ادْعُوا لِي مُوسَى فَدُعِيَ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّ أَبَا حَنِيفَةَ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ تُصَلِّي وَالنَّاسُ يَمُرُّونَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ فَلَمْ تَنْهَهُمْ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ يَا أَبَةِ إِنَّ الَّذِي كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي لَهُ كَانَ أَقْرَبَ إِلَيَّ مِنْهُمْ يَقُولُ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ قَالَ فَضَمَّهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) إِلَى نَفْسِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا مُوَدَّعَ الأسْرَارِ. وَهَذَا تَأْدِيبٌ مِنْهُ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) لاَ أَنَّهُ تَرَكَ الْفَضْلَ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One, when reading from the Holy Quran, should, upon coming across a verse that speaks of prayer or warning, ask Allah for what is good that one hopes for and for safety from fire and torment.’”
1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) يَنْبَغِي لِمَنْ يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ إِذَا مَرَّ بِآيَةٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فِيهَا مَسْأَلَةٌ أَوْ تَخْوِيفٌ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ الله عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ خَيْرَ مَا يَرْجُو وَيَسْأَلَهُ الْعَافِيَةَ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمِنَ الْعَذَابِ.

Imam Sadiq (a.s) asked Ali ibn Abdul-Aziz: “Do You want me to tell you the major, the minor and the highest principles of Islam?” He said: “Yes.” Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “The major principle is prayer.” The minor principle is the payment of the alms tax. But the highest principle is holy war in the way of God. Do you want me to inform you about the gates of goodness? Fasting is similar to armor against the Fire of Hell. Charity will eliminate the sins. The same holds true for staying up late at night and praying to the Lord.” Then Imam Sadiq (a.s) recited the following verse: “Their limbs do forsake their beds of sleep, the while they call on their Lord, in fear and hope: and they spend (in charity) out of the sustenance which We have bestowed on them.” [The Holy Quran: Sajda 32:16]
عن علي بن عبد العزيز قال
قال أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام): ألا أخبركم بأصل الإسلام وفرعه وذروة سنامه؟ قال: قلت: بلى، قال: أصله الصلاة، وفرعه الزكاة، وذروة سنامه الجهاد في سبيل الله ألا أخبرك بأبواب الخير؟ الصوم جنة، والصدقة تحط الخطيئة، وقيام الرجل في جوف الليل يناجي ربه، ثم تلى: ﴿تتجافى جنوبهم عن المضاجع يدعون ربهم خوفا وطمعا ومما رزقناهم ينفقون﴾.
