Hadith.1209 - Abu al-Maghra' Humayd ibn al-Muthanna said: "I was with Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) when Hafs al-Kalbi asked him: "When I am behind the Imam and he is reciting aloud, may I make supplications and seek refuge (in Allah (swt))?" Imam (as) said: "Yes, you may supplicate."

“About a man who performs Tawaf around the House [but cuts it short], abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’He must do Qada’ (compensatory fast) of what he has cut short of his Tawaf.’”

“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about the case of a snake that enters in a Hub (large water container) which has water in it and then comes out. He (the Imam) said, ‘If one can find other water it should be spilled away.’”

“About the case of a man who marries a virgin in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage), abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is detestable because of disgrace to her family.”’

“Relax your souls with new sparks of wisdom, because souls also tire as bodies do.”

“About the case of a woman who dies and leaves behind her husband, abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘One-fourth belongs to the woman and the rest belongs to the Imam.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Al-Hajj al-Tamattu‘ (advantageous) by Allah is better. Quran had come down about it and the Sunnah has run in this way.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is proper for the Imam to make people behind him hear Tashahhud (testimonies of belief) and they must not make him to hear anything from them.’”

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Allah has never given respect to anyone because of ignorance and He has never humiliated anyone who possessed forbearance.’”

"It will be counted for you when you join them (in prayer), even if you do not follow them (in intention); it will be counted for you just as it would if you were with someone you follow”.

Show openness to the One for whom you have entered the state of ihram."

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘The Holy Quran forbids and commands, it commands (people to go) to paradise and prohibits (people from going) to the fire.’”

“I asked Imam abu al-Hassan (a.s.) about certain matters of the attributes (of Allah) and the Imam said, “Do not exceed what is in the holy Quran.”

“Maintaining good relations with relatives improves moral behavior, opens the ability for generosity, helps one’s soul agree easily to be generous, increases one’s means of sustenance and delays the coming of death.”

“Hafs al-Kunasiy once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the meaning of the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘It is obligatory upon people from Allah to perform al-Hajj who have the way (are able) to do so.’ (3:96) He (the Imam) said, ‘It means that one is physically safe, has supplies and transportation, then he has the way (is able) to perform al-Hajj or that he (the Imam) said that he is of the ones who is wealthy.’ Hafs al-Kunasiy then asked, ‘So if one is physically safe, free, has supplies, transportation and has not performed al-Hajj, is he of those who are able to perform al- Hajj? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, that is correct.’”

“O Hafs! One from our Shias who dies without having a good knowledge of recitation of the Holy Quran, is taught the Holy Quran in grave so that Allah grants him great ranks. Know that the levels of Paradise are equal to the number of verses in the Holy Quran. A reciter of the Holy Quran is told over there, ‘Recite a verse of the Holy Quran and go to the next level’.”

“I came to Abu Abdullah (as) when his mawla al-Mu’alla bin Khunays was killed. He said to me: “O Hafs, I have told al-Mu’alla of some things but he spread them then he was afflicted with (iron). I have said to him: We have some traditions, which if someone keeps secret Allah will save his religion and life and if he spreads, Allah will deprive him of his religion and life. O Mu’alla, if one hides the serious traditions of ours, Allah will make that as light between his eyes and grant him with glory among people and if one spreads the serious traditions of ours, he will not die until he is bitten by weapon or he dies confusedly.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not drink the milk of camels that feed on human feces; and if their perspiration comes in contact with you, wash it clean.’”

“Once abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about the case of a man who swears by his brother. He (the Imam) said, ‘It does not have any valid effect on him; he only wanted to honor and respect him.’”

I heard Aba Abdillah عليه السلام saying: The Qur’an is a Chaser and a Caller. It calls to the Garden and chases away from the Fire
