يعقوب بن يقطين: ثقة، من أصحاب الرضا عليه السلام، رجال الشيخ (13). وعده البرقي من أصحاب الكاظم عليه السلام. وتقدم في ترجمة علي بن يقطين روايته عن أبي الحسن الخراساني عليه السلام، وقول الكشي: إنه من أصحاب أبي الحسن عليه السلام. طبقته في الحديث وقع بهذا العنوان في إسناد عدة من الروايات، تبلغ ستة عشر موردا: روى عن أبي الحسن، والعبد الصالح، وأبي الحسن الرضا، عليهما السلام، وعن أخيه علي بن يقطين. وروى عنه ابن أبي عمير، والحسن بن علي بن يقطين، والحسين بن سعيد، ومحمد بن الحسين، ومحمد بن عيسى، ومحمد بن عيسى اليقطيني، والنضر.
