The Prophet (s.a.w.s.) who said: “The Almighty Allah has decreed Paradise for those youths who look at the mirror and praise Allah much.”

Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: Whoever prays a prescribed prayer, then glorifies [Allah] thirty times after it, no sin will remain on his body except that he will have shed it.

Whoever extols Allah (takbir) one hundred times in the evening, it is as though he frees one hundred people.

Whoever glorifies Allah (tasbih) Allah thirty times per day, Allah will repel seventy forms of calamity from him, the smallest of which is poverty.

Whoever says “May Allah be glorified in His praise, may Allah the Great be glorified (subhanallah wa bi hamdihi, subhanallah al-`athim)” thirty times will receive riches, evade poverty, and knock on the gate of Paradise.

O Aba Harun! Surely, we instruct our children to recite Tasbih Fatima (sa) just as we instruct them to pray. So, cling to it, for no wretched worshiper clings to it.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: There is not a faster who attends to a people who are eating except that his appendages glorify [Allah]. The angels bless him, and their blessings are a repentance for him.

Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (MGB) said, “There are ninety-five Takbirs in the five daily prayers including the ones said in the Qunut.

If food has the following four characteristics it is complete: It is lawful; many people eat it; it is eaten by mentioning the Blessed the Sublime God’s name; and God is praised after it is eaten.”

O Messenger of Allah, and who can handle this from your nation? He, peace be upon him, then said: O Ali, do you not know what beautifying speech is? (It is) The one who says, when he wakes up at the morning and is to sleep at night: «Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greater» ten times. Feeding with food is a man’s expenditure towards his family. As for continuously fasting, it is that a man fasts the month of Ramadhan and three days of every month, by which the fasting of a lifetime is written for him (in rewards). As for praying at night while people are asleep, it is that the one who prays (the prayer of) the sundown, the prayer of the last evening and the prayer of the early morning in a mosque in congregation, and it will be as if he has revived all the night (in prayer). The spreading of peace is that one is not stingy with sending peace upon anyone of the Muslims.

One day, Dawud (as) went to recite the Psalms. Whenever he would recite the Psalms, there would not remain a mountain, a stone, a bird, nor a creature except that it would repeat after him. So, he did not stop walking until he reached a mountain. Upon that mountain was a cloistered prophet called Hizqil. When he heard the sound of the mountains and the voices of the creatures and the birds, he knew that it was Dawud (as). So, Dawud said: O Hizqil! Do you permit me to climb up to you? He said: No. So, Dawud (as) wept. So, Allah revealed to him: "O Hizqil! Do not humiliate Dawud and ask Me for My forgiveness." So, Hizqil stood, took the hand of Dawud, and helped him up to him. So, Dawud said: O Hizqil! Have you ever been tempted to sin? He said: No. He said: Have you ever been alarmed by your state of worshiping Allah? He said: No. He said: Have you went into this world and wanted to take from its lustful and pleasurable things? He said: Of course -- perhaps it came to my heart. He said: What do you do when that happens? He said: I go to this cave and I contemplate over it. He said: So, Dawud (as) went to that cave and came across an iron bed with a decomposed skull and withering bones atop it. He came across an iron tablet with writing on it. Dawud (as) read it and it said: "I am Arwa Shalam. I ruled for one thousand years, I built one thousand cities, and I had sex with one thousand virgins. Yet, in the end, dust became my bed, rocks became my masters, and worms and snakes became my neighbours. To whoever sees me: do not be deceived by this world."
