جعفر بن علي بن الحسن: ابن علي بن عبد الله بن المغيرة الكوفي من مشايخ الصدوق، ذكره مترضيا عليه في المشيخة، في طريقه إلى جد جده عبد الله بن المغيرة. وذكره أيضا في طريقه إلى جده الحسن بن علي، والى عبد الرحيم القصير، وإلى روح بن عبد الرحيم، وإلى العباس بن عامر القصباني. وذكر الوحيد في التعليقة: أن في بعض النسخ جعفر بن محمد بن علي بن الحسن، الخ، وقال: ولعله الظاهر. أقول: يبعد ذلك أن الموجود في كتب الصدوق في موارد كثيرة، جعفر بن علي بن الحسن، ويبعد السقط في جميع هذه الموارد.
