أنس بن مالك

1. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) says, “One who lights a lamp in the mosque of Allah the people of heaven and Allah’s angels seek repentance for that person till the time that lamp is on in the mosque.”

1-113 Abu Ahmad Muhammad ibn Ja’far al-Bandar narrated that Abul Qasim Sa’id ibn Ahmad ibn Abi Salim quoted on the authority of Abu Zakarya Yahya ibn al-Fazl al-Var’raq, on the authority of Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Var’raq al-Samarqandi, on the authority of Suleiman ibn Salme, on the authority of Baqiat ibn al-Walid, on the authority of Al-Zayady, on the authority of Al-Zuhra, on the authority of Anas that God’s Prophet (MGB) finished his prayers with one greeting.

Fatima (sa) did not see blood during menstruation nor in delivery.

Every obstinate tyrant is one who refuses to say: “there is no god but Allah” (la ilaha illallah).

Abu Dharr came one day to the Mosque of Allah’s Messenger (sw) and said: I did not see like I saw yesterday. They said: And what did you see yesterday? He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (sw) at its door, and then he went out and took by the hand of Ali bin Abi Talib (AS) and they went out to Baqee’.
I kept tracing their tracks until they came to the graves of (the people of) Mecca, and then he turned to the grave of his father and prayer two rak’a next to it, and suddenly, the grave split open, and suddenly, Abdullah was sitting whilst saying: «I testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammed is His servant and Messenger». Then he said to him: Who is your Leader, O father? So he said: What is the Leader, O my son? So he said: This is him, Ali. Then he said: «And that Ali is my Leader». He said: Then return to your garden. Then he turned to the grave of his mother, Amina, and he did what he did at the grave of his father, and suddenly, the grave had split open, and it was her, saying: «I testify that there is no god but Allah, and that you are the Prophet of Allah and His Messenger». Then he said to her: Who is your Leader, O mother? So she said: What is the Divine Authority, O my son? He said: It is him, Ali bin Abi Talib. So she said: «And that Ali is my Leader». Then he said: Return to your hole and garden.
Then they [1] rejected him [2], grabbed hold of him, pulled him and said: O Messenger of Allah, he has lied about you today! Then he said: And what was of that? They said: Indeed, Jundub [3] has spoken about you such-and-such! Then the Prophet (sw) said: The sky has not shadowed upon, nor has the earth carried, anyone with a tongue more truthful than Abu Dharr. Abdul-Salam bin Muhammed said: Then I presented this report upon al-Jahmi, Muhammed bin Abdil-A’la, and he said: Did you not know that the Prophet (sw) said: «Jibra’eel (AS) came to me and said: Indeed, Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, forbade the Fire for the loins from which you descended, womb that carried you, breast that breastfed you and home that cared for you»?

Prophet (S) had said: “This matter (the religion) is still prevailing until twelve guardians of Quraysh (pass away).” Then he mentioned the rest of the tradition.

All people, the one who misses the sun, let him adhere to the moon, and the one who misses the moon, let him adhere to Zuhra, and the one who misses Zuhra, let him adhere to the Two Farqads. It was said: O Allah’s Messenger, what is the sun, the moon, the Zuhra and the two Farqads? He said: I am the Sun, Ali is the Moon, Fatima is the Zuhra and Hasan and Hussain are the two Farqads. So is the Book of Allah; they will not be separated until they come to me at the basin.

Ins ibn Malik said: “God's Prophet (a.s) was reciting the verse: “Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of God; for without doubt in the remembrance of God do hearts find satisfaction.” [The Holy Quran: Ra'd 13:28] Then the Prophet (a.s) turned towards him and said: “O' son of Umm Salim! Whom do you think this verse has been revealed about?” “It is about us and our followers.” Then Ins asked the Prophet: “Is not anyone who claims to follow Islam one of your followers?” The Prophet replied: “Yes. But their animosity towards the members of my Household will cause them to get farther and farther away from Islam, and get closer to the Jews and the Christians.”

Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “One who takes up the leadership of ten persons and is not able to do justice to them, will come on the Day of Judgment with his hands, feet and head perforated.”

O Ans! Make complete ablutions so that you may cross the Bridge just like a cloud; express your greetings aloud so that there are increased blessings in your house; and give a lot of charity in private so as to quench the Honorable the Exalted God’s Wrath.”

“No one is dearer to God than a young fellow who repents.”

The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "O Anas, be always pure and clean, and Allah will increase your years (i.e. lifetime). And if you can remain in the state of purity through the day and the night, then do so; for if you die in the state of purity (Taharat, Wudhoo etc.), you will die a martyr. And be steadfast on the noon prayers, for it is the prayers of those who return to Allah with repentance. And perform as many optional prayers as possible, so that the appointed keepers (Angels) have affection for you. And initiate Salaam upon one you meet, so that Allah augments your good deeds. Greet with Salaam your household, and it will be full of divine blessings. Show veneration to the elder Muslims, and be kind to their young ones, so that when you and I arrive on the Day of Judgement, we come like these two - then he demonstrated by his first two fingers."

It is not allowed for one to be on no talking terms with his Muslim brother for more than three days.”

There are three things which destroy and three things which save. As for the three things which save, they are fearing the Honorable the Exalted God in private and in public; moderation in times of poverty and affluence; and speaking fairly whether you are pleased or angry. As for the three things which destroy, they are being really stingy; following one’s selfish desires; and being haughty and selfish.”In another tradition that has been narrated on the authority of Imam as-Sadiq (MGB), we read, “Being really stingy implies being suspicious of the Honorable the Exalted God.” I have presented the chain of narrations of this tradition in the book Ma’ani al-Akhbar.

Whoever faces our Qibla (prayer direction), prays the way we pray, and eats what we slaughter is one of us and is our partner.”

The Children of Adam (people) will get old, but two things still remain young within them: greed for wealth and greed for life.”

Promise me you will do the following six things, then I will promise you that you will go to Paradise. Do not lie when you quote something. Never break your promise. Return what you are entrusted with. Do not look at what is forbidden to see. Guard your honor. Do not bother the people physically or verbally."

The Honorable the Exalted God will protect anyone who attains the age of forty from the three diseases: insanity, vitiligo and leprosy. God will ease the Reckoning of anyone who reaches the age of fifty. God will grant anyone who reaches the age of sixty opportunity to repent as the Honorable the Exalted God wills. God and the companions of the heavens love anyone who reaches the age of seventy. God will order the good deeds to be recorded, and the bad deeds to be eliminated for anyone who reaches the age of eighty. Whenever a man reaches the age of ninety, God will forgive all his past and future sins. He will be considered to be one of the slaves of God on Earth and his intercession on behalf of his family members would be accepted.”

The Honorable the Exalted God will protect anyone who attains the age of forty from the three diseases: insanity, vitiligo and leprosy . God will ease the Reckoning of anyone who reaches the age of fifty. God will grant anyone who reaches the age of sixty an opportunity to repent as God likes him/her and is pleased with him/her. God and the companions of the heavens love anyone who reaches the age of seventy. God will order the good deeds to be recorded, and the bad deeds to be eliminated for anyone who reaches the age of eighty. Whenever a person reaches the age of ninety, God will forgive all his past and future sins. He will be considered to be one of the slaves of God on Earth, and his intercession on behalf of his family members would be accepted.”

On the Resurrection Day, the Honorable the Exalted God shall raise anyone in my nation who remembers forty traditions regarding his religious affairs for the sake of God and the Hereafter as a learned scholar.”
