إسماعيل بن الخطاب السلمي [ق] قال - الكشي حدثني محمد بن قولويه عن سعد بن أيوب بن نوح عن جعفر بن محمد بن إسماعيل قال اخبرني معمر بن خلاد قال رفعت ما خرج من غلة إسماعيل بن الخطاب بما أوصى به إلى صفوان فقال رحم الله إسماعيل بن الخطاب ورحم صفوان فإنهما من حزب آبائي ومن كان حزب آبائي أدخله الله الجنة ولم يثبت عندي صحة هذا الخبر ولا بطلانه فالأقوى عندي التوقف في روايته [صه] الظ ان هذا جعفر بن محمد بن إسماعيل بن الخطاب و هو مذكور في [دى] لكن مهملا فالتوقف بحاله

إسماعيل بن الخطاب: السلمي من أصحاب الصادق عليه السلام، رجال الشيخ (107). وذكر الكشي في ترجمته: (357 - 358)، رواية تدل على مدحه وجلالته لكن الرواية ضعيفة لان في سندها جعفر بن محمد بن إسماعيل، وهو مهمل، وتأتي الرواية، في ترجمة صفوان بن يحيى.
