أحمد بن محمد بن يعقوب: أبو علي البيهقي: روى عنه الكشي مترحما عليه، ثم قال: قال أبو علي: والفضل بن شاذان، كان برستاق بيهق، فورد خبر الخوارج، فهرب منهم، فأصابه التعب من خشونة السفر، فاعتل منه، ومات فيه، فصليت عليه، ذكره الكشي نفسه في ترجمة: الفضل بن شاذان (416).
