أبي بن قيس: من أصحاب علي عليه السلام، رجال الشيخ (7) وذكره في ترجمة أخيه علقمة بن قيس (115). قال الكشي (36): " روى يحيى الحماني، قال: حدثنا شريك، عن منصور، قال: قلت لإبراهيم أشهد علقمة صفين؟ قال: نعم، وخضب سيفه دما، وقتل أخو أبي بن قيس يوم صفين، قال: وكان لأبي بن قيس حصن من قصب ولفرسه، فإذا غزا هدمه وإذا رجع بناه، وكان علقمة فقيها في دينه، قارئا لكتاب الله، عالما بالفرائض، شهد صفين وأصيبت إحدى رجليه فعرج منها، وأما أخوه أبي فقد قتل بصفين، وكان الحارث جليلا فقيها، وكان أعور ".
