"I asked Imam (as) about a man who buys a bondwoman, then has relations with her, and later discovers that she is pregnant." Imam (as) replied: "He must return her and also return something along with her."

“Abu Ja‘far, and abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, have said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Whoever revives a barren (dead) land, it becomes his land.’”

“Once I went to a bathhouse with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.). He (the Imam) said, ‘O ‘Abd al- Rahman, you should apply lime.’ I said, ‘I had applied sometimes ago.’ He (the Imam) said, ’Apply it again; it is cleansing.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A woman who has control of her affairs can marry whomever she likes or she can appoint someone as her guardian.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A man from Ansar got married in the state of Ihram, and the Messenger of Allah, considered his marriage invalid.’”

I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “How should I place my hand on the graves of the believers?” Imam (a.s.) faced the Qiblah, pointed toward the earth, and then placed his hand on it.

I asked Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, about the saying of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He: «do not enter houses other than your houses until you domesticate (yourselves) and send peace upon their people.» (24:27) He said: Domestication is to place the sandals and send peace.

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who performs Sajdah (prostration) wearing a turban which prevents his face from falling on the earth. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is not sufficient until his forehead touches the earth.’”

I asked the Sheikh, meaning Imam Musa ibn Jafar Al-Kadhim (as), "Inform me about a man who claims a right against another man but has no evidence to prove his claim." Imam (as) said: "The defendant must take an oath. If he swears, then the claimant has no right. However, if the defendant refers the oath back to the claimant and the claimant refuses to swear, then he has no right either. If the person against whom the claim is made has died and evidence is presented against him, the claimant must take an oath by Allah (swt), there is no God but He (swt), that the deceased owed him the claimed right. If he swears, the claim is valid; otherwise, he has no right. This is because we do not know-perhaps the deceased settled the debt through evidence unknown to us or without evidence before his death. Therefore, an oath along with the evidence is required. If the claimant makes a claim without evidence, he has no right because the defendant is not alive. Had the defendant been alive, he would have been required to either take an oath, acknowledge the claim, or refer the oath back. Hence, no right is established for the claimant." [chapter-CHAPTER 27 - CHAPTER ON THE JUDGMENT REGARDING TWO CLAIMANTS EACH PRESENTING EVIDENCE THAT THE RIGHT BELONGS TO THEM] بَابُ حُكْمِ الْمُدَّعِيَيْنِ فِي حَقٍّ يُقِيمُ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا الْبَيِّنَةَ عَلَى أَنَّهُ لَهُ‌

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who has not paid Zakat for his camel or sheep for two years then sells to another man who, as part of the deal, is asked to pay its Zakat. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, Zakat is collected from him and the seller pursues him for payment or himself pays its Zakat.’”

I heard Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) say: "If you enter the mosque and the Imam is in the bowing position (ruku'), and you think that if you walk towards him, he will raise his head, then pronounce the takbir (opening supplication) and bow. When the Imam raises his head, prostrate in your place. If the Imam then stands, join the row. If he sits, remain seated in your place, and when he stands again, join the row."

"If you pray, then pray in your sandals (shoes) if they are clean, for that is from the Sunnah."

"She should perform Hajj, even if it displeases him."

"Umrah performed during the first ten days (of Dhu al-Hijjah) is considered Tamattu‘."

“I once said to the Shaykh (a.s.), to instruct me about the case of a man who claims against another for owing him a certain right but has no testimony to prove it. He (the Imam) said, ‘The defendant then must take an oath; and if he did so then he does not have any right, if he did not take an oath his right is established. If the defendant has died and testimony is established against him, then the plaintiff must take an oath by Allah, besides whom no one deserves to be worshipped, that so and so has died and that his right is on him. If he takes such an oath, otherwise, he has no right; we do not know, perhaps the deceased may have paid him in the presence of witnesses that we do not know their place or without testimony, before his death. For this reason oath is on the plaintiff with testimony, but if he claims without testimony he has no right because the defendant is not living; had he been living he had to take an oath or pay the right or turn the oath on the plaintiff in which case the right would not have been proved against him.”

‘I heard Abu Ja’far (asws) saying that: ‘Umar met Ali (asws), so he said to him (asws), ‘You (asws) are the one who is reciting this Verse: “[68:6] Which of you is afflicted with madness” and applying it to me and to my companion’. He (asws) said to him: ‘Shall I not inform you of a Verse which has Descended about the Clan of Umayya: “[47:22] But if you held command, you were sure to make mischief in the land and cut off the ties of kinship”?’ So he said, ‘You (asws) are lying. The Clan of Umayya are better at maintaining relations than you (asws) are, but you (asws) refuse to do anything except be inimical to the Clan of Taym (Abu Bakr’s tribe), and the Clan of Ady (Umar’s tribe), and the Clan of Umayya (Muawiya’s tribe)’.

I said to him, "My daughter has passed away while my mother is still alive." Aban ibn Taghlib said: "She (the grandmother) has no share." Imam (as) responded: "Glory be to Allah (swt)! Give her a share, meaning one-sixth."

People must stand by their conditions. If his condition is permission to use the house for his life time, it then is for his life time. If it is for the life time of those whom he leaves behind, then it is for their life time after which they must return it to the owner of the house.’”

He said: "There is no harm in leaving the Jumu’ah prayer (Salat al-Jumu'ah) due to rain."

Abu Abdullah (as), said: "Whatever is caught by a snare and has part of it severed, then it is considered dead. However, if you find the rest of its body alive, then perform the proper slaughtering (Zabiha) and eat from it."
