Nasr ibn al-Sabbah said: Ali ibn Isma'il is called Ali ibn al-Sindi; Isma'il was laqab al-Sindi (Kashshi). It seems in the copy of [Ibn] al-Sari he was listed as Ali ibn al-Sari al-Karkhi... In Ikhtiyar al-Shaykh from (Kashshi) 'Ibn al-Sari' appears in some copies, which is correct, so reflect. Ali ibn Isma'il from the companions of al-Rida. Nasr ibn al-Sabbah said: Ali ibn Isma'il is Reliable, and he is Ali ibn al-Sindi.
