سالم بن أبي الجعد: من أصحاب علي عليه السلام، رجال الشيخ (9). وعده في أصحاب السجاد عليه السلام: قائلا: (سالم بن أبي الجعد الأشجعي، مولاهم الكوفي يكنى أبا أسماء) (7). وعده البرقي من خواص أصحاب أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام، من مضر، قائلا: (سالم، وعبيدة، وزياد بنو (أبي) الجعد الأشجعيون). وقد تقدم كلام النجاشي، في ترجمة زياد بن أبي الجعد الدال على أن المعروفين من آل الأشجع ثقات كلهم. روى عن علي عليه السلام، وروى عنه الأعمش. الفقيه: الجزء 4، باب ميراث الأجداد والجدات، الحديث 703، والتهذيب: الجزء 9، باب ميراث من علا من الآباء وهبط من الأولاد، الحديث 132، والاستبصار: الجزء 4، باب ميراث الجد مع كلالة الأب، الحديث 599.
