كعيب بن عبد الله مولى بني طرفة، كوفي، ثقة، روى عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام، ذكره أصحاب الرجال. له كتاب يرويه جماعة، أخبرنا أحمد بن عبد الواحد قال: حدثنا عبيد الله بن أبي زيد قال: حدثنا علي بن محمد بن رباح عن محمد والحسين ابني أحمد بن الحسن، عن أبيهما، عن العباس بن عامر، عن كعيب بكتابه.

كعيب بن عبد الله: قال النجاشي: " كعيب بن عبد الله مولى بني طرفة، كوفي، ثقة، روى عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام، ذكره أصحاب الرجال، له كتاب يرويه جماعة، أخبرنا أحمد بن عبد الواحد، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن أبي يزيد، قال: حدثنا علي بن محمد بن رباح، عن محمد والحسين ابني أحمد بن الحسن، عن أبيهما، عن العباس ابن عامر، عن كعيب، بكتابه ". وعده الشيخ في رجاله من أصحاب الصادق عليه السلام (18)، قائلا: " كعيب مولى بني طرفة ".
