3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from al-‘Ala’ ibn al-Fudayl from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘Majesty is the gown of Allah and pride is His loin clothe, therefore, whoever holds to any of these, Allah will throw him in hell.’”
3ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) الْعِزُّ رِدَاءُ الله وَالْكِبْرُ إِزَارُهُ فَمَنْ تَنَاوَلَ شَيْئاً مِنْهُ أَكَبَّهُ الله فِي جَهَنَّمَ.

hadith 852
1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates that Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) said, “Honor is the dress of God (suitable only for Allah) and pride is the dress of those who run to get honor and they are hung in Hell by Allah.”
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع الْعِزُّ رِدَاءُ اللَّهِ وَ الْکِبْرِیَاءُ إِزَارُهُ فَمَنْ تَنَاوَلَ شَیْئاً مِنْهُ أَکَبَّهُ اللَّهُ فِی جَهَنَّمَ.

4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from ‘Isa ibn al-Dahhak who has said the following
“Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘It is astonishing how one acts boastfully and arrogantly, when it is a fact that he is created from sperm and he will soon turn into a carcass and, in between, he does not know what may happen to him.’”
4ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) عَجَباً لِلْمُخْتَالِ الْفَخُورِ وَإِنَّمَا خُلِقَ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ يَعُودُ جِيفَةً وَهُوَ فِيمَا بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ لا يَدْرِي مَا يُصْنَعُ بِهِ.
