And whatever is narrated from Amr ibn Thabit, who is Amr ibn Abi Al-Miqdam, I have narrated it from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan Al-Ṣaffar and Al-Hasan ibn Matil together, from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-Khaṭṭab, from Al-Hakam ibn Miskin, from Amr ibn Thabit Abi Al-Miqdam.

“The companions of al-Qa’im will be young men. There will be no old men among them except like the kohl in an eye or like the salt in the food and the least part of food is the salt.”

“Once my father and I were with abu Ja’far (a.s.), when a bowl made of pottery with water was brought. He (the Imam) drank standing. He then gave it to my father who also drank standing and gave it to me and I also drank standing.’”

“Abu Ja’far al-Baqir (MGB) told me, ‘O Abil Miqdam! Indeed Ali’s followers are pale due to abstinence; slim and with dry lips. Their lips are fasting; their stomachs are thin and their color is changing because of God’s fear and their faces are yellow. When the night comes they sit on the ground and put their foreheads on the ground. They prostrate a lot; they often shed tears; they make supplications often; they cry a lot; and the people are happy, while they are sad.’”

O Abu al-Miqdam, the Shia of Ali (a) are the pale, the thin, and the emaciated. Their lips are dry, their stomachs are atrophied, and their colors are faded.

Indeed our followers are those who sacrifice their lives for loving us; become friends with each other due to loving us; visit each other to revive our traditions; do not oppress anyone if they get angry; do not go beyond bounds if they like some thing; do not waste; are blessings for their neighbors; and are a source of peace and comfort for those with whom they associate.”I have explained this in more detail in Sifat ul-Shia.

‘O Khadijah’s daughter! I swear by God that you believe that your mother was better than us. What was in her that made her nobler than us?’ Fatimah who was listening to her cried when she saw the Prophet (MGB). The Prophet (MGB) looked at her and asked, ‘O daughter of Muhammad! Why are you crying?’ She replied, ‘Ayesha mentioned my mother’s name with disrespect and I cried.’ The Prophet of God (MGB) became angry, turned to Ayesha and said, ‘O Homeyra! Be silent. The Blessed the Sublime God has honored kind women who give birth to children. Khadijah - may God may have mercy upon her - has brought two sons from me. The first one is called Tahir, Abdullah or Mutah’har. The second one is called Qasim. Khadijah has delivered four daughters for me who are Fatimah (MGB), Ruqayah, Umm Kulthum and Zaynab. However, you are one whom God has made barren and have not given birth to any child for me.”

A woman was brought before Umar ibn al-Khattab. She had married an old man who died while lying on top of her after consummating the marriage. Later, she gave birth to a child. The old man's sons accused her of adultery and testified against her. Umar ordered that she be stoned. As they were leading her away, they passed by Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as). She called out: "O cousin of the Messenger of Allah (swt)! I am wronged, and this is my evidence." Imam (as) said: "Present your evidence." She handed him a letter, and Imam (as) read it. Then Imam (as) said: "This woman is informing you of the date of her marriage, the date of consummation, and how it occurred. Return the woman." The next day, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) summoned some children who were of the same age as the woman's child and told them to play. They played until they became distracted. Then Imam (as) called out to them suddenly, and they all stood up, including the woman's child, who stood leaning on both his palms for support. Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) called the child forward, confirmed his paternity, and ruled that he inherit from his father. He then ordered the brothers, who had falsely accused the woman, to be lashed one by one as the punishment for false accusation. Umar asked Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as): "How did you reach this judgment?" Imam (as) replied: "I recognized the frailty of the old man from the way the child leaned on his palms to stand up."

Sheep are profitable whether they face you or turn around . Cows are also profitable whether they face you or turn around. However, camels are from the regions of the satans. They cause a loss whether they face you or turn around. They have no use except for their unfortunate owners who worry that they may get harmed.’ The Prophet (MGB) was asked, ‘O Prophet of God! Who should then raise camels?’ The Prophet (MGB) replied, ‘Unfortunate owners!’”Salih ibn Abi Himad added, ‘And then Isma’il ibn Mihran recited a poem in this respect.’”

“Where is his cornelian ring? If he had been wearing that, he would not have been lashed.”

“I once heard Abu Ja‘far (a.s.) say, ‘Do you know what is the meaning of the words of Allah, ‘. . . that they must not disobey you in lawful matters?’ (60:13) I replied, ‘No, I do not know.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘The Messenger of Allah (sw) once said to Fatimah (sa), ‘When I die, you must not cause abrasion to any face, do not spread for me any hairs, do not cry ‘woe is me’ and do not call any gathering to mourn for me.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘This is the lawful matter about which Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has spoken.’”

“Amir al-Mu’minin (Ali ibn abu Talib) (a.s.) has said, ‘Our Shi’a (followers) spend for (the cause of) our Walayah (Divine Authority), love each other for the sake of our love, and visit each other to preserve our cause. They are those who do not commit injustice when angered, and are not excessive when they agree. They are blessings for the neighbors and peace for those who associate with them.’”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: One who loves me and loves my Ahl al-Bayt will benefit in seven places and will be rewarded generously: (1) at death, (2) in the grave, (3) at the Resurrection, (4) at the [giving of the] book, (5) at the Judgment, (6) at the scale, and (7) on the Path.

Prophet (s) said: The love for my household and me will help in seven situations whose horrors are enormous: at death, in the grave, in the Resurrection, in the Recorded Account, in the Judgment, in the Balance, and on the Path.

“Stay close to the ground and do not move your hands or feet until you witness the signs that I mention to you, and I don’t think that you will live until that time: The descendats of so-and-so will disintegrate into groups, a caller will call out from the sky and his voice will come to you from the direction of Damascus with victory, one of your villages in the region of al-Sham (greater Syria) named Jabia would cave into the ground, the brothers of the Turks will rise up in Jazira, and the remnants of the Romans will attack Ramla. In that year, there will be much disagreement in every land, from the direction of the Maghrib (the West). The first land to be ruined will be al-Sham. The cause of its destruction will be the meeting of three standards there; the standard of the Red, the standard of the Spotted and the standard of the Sufyani.”

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘I ask my followers who are present, those who are not present, those in the back of men and in the wombs of women to the Day of Judgment to maintain good relations with their relatives even though they are far away at a distance of one year’s journey; it is part of religion.’”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Malik Al-Juhani has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Ali ibn Musa ibn Ja'far ibn Abi Ja'far Al-Kamandani, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn 'Isa, from Al-Hasan ibn Mahbub, from 'Amr ibn Abi Al-Miqdam, from Abu Muhammad Malik ibn A'yan Al-Juhani. He was an Arab from Kufa and not from the family of Sansan.

“I asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.) about the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most gracious, “Some people consider certain things equal to God and love them just as one should love God. . .” (2:165) The Imam (a.s.) said, “They, by Allah, are the friends of so and so and so and so whom they have taken as their Imams and not the Imam, Leaders with Divine Authority, who are appoint for people as suCh For this reason He has said, “. . Had the unjust been able to reflect about their condition, when facing the torment, they would have had no doubt that to God belongs All-power and that He is stern in His retribution. (2:165) When the leaders see the torment and lose all their resources, they will denounce their followers (2:166). The followers will say, “Had we had the chance we also would have denounced our leaders.” That is how God will show them their regrettable deeds. They will not be able to escape from hell fire.” (2:167).) Then abu Ja‘far (a.s.) said, “By Allah, O Jabir, they are the unjust Imams and their followers.”

“I heard Ali ibn al-Husayn say, ‘Allah created Muhammad , Ali and the eleven Imams from his descendants out of the light of His greatness. He then placed them as figures in the brightness of His light where they worshipped Him before the creation of the creatures. They would speak of the Glory of Allah and of His Holiness. They are the Imams from descendants of the Messenger of Allah.”

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said, ‘I and twelve persons from my descendants and you O Ali, are the securing anchor of the earth, that is, the pillars thereof and its ropes. Through us Allah has secured the earth from devouring the inhabitants. If all the twelve persons from my family will no longer be there, the earth will devour her inhabitants without delay.”
