عبد الله بن العلاء المذاري أبو محمد ثقة، من وجوه أصحابنا، يقال إن له كتاب الوصايا، ويقال إنه لمحمد بن عيسى بن عبيد وهو رواه عنه، وله كتاب النوادر كبير. أخبرنا أبو الحسن بن الجندي قال: حدثنا ابن همام قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن العلاء.

Reliable, from the leaders of our companions. It is said he has a book of Wasaya, and it is said it belongs to Muhammad ibn Isa ibn Ubaid who narrated it from him. He has a large book of Nawadir.
