داود بن عطاء: قال النجاشي: " داود بن عطاء المدني: أخبرنا أبو العباس، أحمد بن علي بن نوح قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسين، قال: حدثنا الحسن بن سكن أبو زيد، قال: حدثنا عباد بن يعقوب، قال ابن نوح: وأخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله، قال: حدثنا محمد بن القاسم البزاز، قال: حدثنا عباد بن يعقوب الأسدي، قال: حدثنا داود ابن عطاء، عن جعفر بن محمد عليه السلام بأحاديثه النوادر عنه ". وعده الشيخ في رجاله مع تكنيته بأبي سليمان مرة وبلا تكنية مرة أخرى في أصحاب الصادق عليه السلام (12 و 25). وقال العلامة في (2) من الباب (1) من فصل الدال من القسم الثاني من الخلاصة: " قال ابن عقدة: سمعت عبد الرحمان بن يوسف بن خداش يقول: داود بن عطاء المدني ليس بشئ ". ولكن ابن داود في (172) من القسم الثاني: نسب القول بأنه ليس بشئ إلى ابن عقدة نفسه والله العالم.
