hadith 326

Hadith.5296 - It is narrated by Asim ibn Humaid from Abu Basir from Abu Abdullah (as) who said

I asked Imam (as) about a tooth or an arm that is intentionally broken - does it require compensation (financial payment) or is there retaliation (qisas)? Imam (as) replied: "Retaliation (qisas)." I asked: "What if they offer him blood money instead?" Imam (as) replied: "If he is satisfied with whatever they offer, then it is permissible for him."

5296 - وَ رَوَى عَاصِمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اَلسِّنِّ وَ اَلذِّرَاعِ يُكْسَرَانِ عَمْداً أَ لَهُمَا أَرْشٌ أَوْ قَوَدٌ فَقَالَ "قَوَدٌ" قَالَ قُلْتُ فَإِنْ أَضْعَفُوا لَهُ اَلدِّيَةَ فَقَالَ "إِنْ أَرْضَوْهُ بِمَا شَاءَ فَهُوَ لَهُ".

hadith 1129

Hadith.4342 - It is narrated from al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abi Hamzah, from Abu Abdillah (as), that the

Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Whoever gets married has safeguarded half of his religion." In another narration, it is added: "So let him fear Allah (swt) regarding the remaining half."

4342 - وَ قَدْ رَوَى اَلْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ : "مَنْ تَزَوَّجَ أَحْرَزَ نِصْفَ دِينِهِ". وَ فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ : "فَلْيَتَّقِ اَللَّهَ فِي اَلنِّصْفِ اَلْبَاقِي".

hadith 1182

Hadith.4396 - It is narrated by Dawood ibn Sirhan from Abu Abdullah (as) that

he said regarding a man who wishes to arrange the marriage of his sister: "He should consult her. If she remains silent, it is her consent, but if she refuses, he should not marry her off. If she says, 'Marry me to so-and-so,' then he should marry her to someone she approves of. As for an orphan girl under the care of a man, he should not marry her off except to someone she is pleased with."

4396 - وَ رَوَى دَاوُدُ بْنُ سِرْحَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ: فِي رَجُلٍ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُزَوِّجَ أُخْتَهُ قَالَ "يُؤَامِرُهَا فَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ فَهُوَ إِقْرَارُهَا وَ إِنْ أَبَتْ لَمْ يُزَوِّجْهَا فَإِنْ قَالَتْ زَوِّجْنِي فُلاَناً فَلْيُزَوِّجْهَا مِمَّنْ تَرْضَى وَ اَلْيَتِيمَةُ فِي حَجْرِ اَلرَّجُلِ لاَ يُزَوِّجُهَا إِلاَّ مِمَّنْ تَرْضَى".

hadith 1189

Hadith.4403 - It is narrated by Al-Sakooni from Abu Abdullah (as), who said

"Escort your brides at night and serve food in the morning."

4403 - وَ رَوَى اَلسَّكُونِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

"زُفُّوا عَرَائِسَكُمْ لَيْلاً وَ أَطْعِمُوا ضُحًى".

hadith 1669

Hadith.4864 - Ḥammad ibn ʿUthman narrated from Al-Ḥalabi, from Abu Abdullah (as), who said

"The divorce of a free woman when she is married to a slave is three divorces, and the divorce of a bondwoman when she is married to a free man is two divorces."

4864 - وَ رَوَى حَمَّادُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنِ اَلْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

"طَلاَقُ اَلْحُرَّةِ إِذَا كَانَتْ تَحْتَ اَلْعَبْدِ ثَلاَثُ تَطْلِيقَاتٍ وَ طَلاَقُ اَلْأَمَةِ إِذَا كَانَتْ تَحْتَ اَلْحُرِّ تَطْلِيقَتَانِ".

hadith 1680

Hadith.4889 - Hammad ibn Uthman narrated from Al-Halabi who narrated from Abu Abdullah (as) that

Imam (as) was asked about a man who said to his wife, "You are free from me," or "You are absolved," or "You are finalized," or "You are separated," or "You are forbidden." Imam (as) replied: "It amounts to nothing."

4889 - رَوَى حَمَّادُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنِ اَلْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ لاِمْرَأَتِهِ أَنْتِ مِنِّي خَلِيَّةٌ أَوْ بَرِيئَةٌ أَوْ بَتَّةٌ أَوْ بَائِنٌ أَوْ حَرَامٌ فَقَالَ "لَيْسَ بِشَيْءٍ".

hadith 1262

Hadith.2829 - It is narrated from Muawiyah ibn Ammar, from Abu Abdullah (as), that he said

"If you wish to perform Tawaf on behalf of one of your brothers, go to the Black Stone and say, 'In the name of Allah (swt), O Allah (swt), accept this on behalf of [the name of the person].'"

2829 - رَوَى مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ : «إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَطُوفَ عَنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ إِخْوَانِكَ فَائْتِ اَلْحَجَرَ اَلْأَسْوَدَ وَ قُلْ بِسْمِ اَللَّهِ اَللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنْ فُلاَنٍ ».

Hadith.2831 - It is narrated by Mu'awiyah ibn Ammar from Abu Abdullah (as) that

he said regarding a man who performed the obligatory circumambulation (Tawaf) but forgot the two units of prayer (Rak’ahs) and then completed the Sa’y (walking between Safa and Marwah) before remembering: "He should identify the place where he was during Sa’y, then return and pray the two Rak’ahs, and then resume his position to complete the rest." This narration is also reported by Muhammad ibn Muslim from Abu Ja'far (as) who said: "Whichever of the two reports he acts upon is acceptable." I asked him further: "What if a man forgets the two Rak’ahs behind the Maqam of Ibrahim (as) and does not remember until after he has left Makkah?" Imam (as) replied: "Let him pray them wherever he remembers. However, if he remembers while still in the city, he should not leave until he performs them."

2831 - رَوَى مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ : فِي رَجُلٍ طَافَ طَوَافَ اَلْفَرِيضَةِ وَ نَسِيَ اَلرَّكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى طَافَ بَيْنَ اَلصَّفَا وَ اَلْمَرْوَةِ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ قَالَ «يُعْلِمُ ذَلِكَ اَلْمَكَانَ ثُمَّ يَعُودُ فَيُصَلِّي اَلرَّكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يَعُودُ إِلَى مَكَانِهِ ». رَوَى ذَلِكَ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : «فَبِأَيِّ اَلْخَبَرَيْنِ أَخَذَ جَازَ» قَالَ وَ قُلْتُ لَهُ رَجُلٌ نَسِيَ اَلرَّكْعَتَيْنِ خَلْفَ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ حَتَّى اِرْتَحَلَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ قَالَ «فَلْيُصَلِّهِمَا حَيْثُ ذَكَرَ وَ إِنْ ذَكَرَهُمَا وَ هُوَ بِالْبَلَدِ فَلاَ يَبْرَحْ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَهُمَا ».

Hadith.3039 - Narrated by Saif ibn Amira from Mansur ibn Hazim, from Abu Abdullah (as), who said

"I heard him say: 'The sacrifice (nahr) in Mina is for three days. Whoever wishes to fast must not fast until the three days have passed. The sacrifice in other towns is only one day, so whoever wishes to fast may begin from the next day.'"

3039 - مَا رَوَاهُ سَيْفُ بْنُ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : «اَلنَّحْرُ بِمِنًى ثَلاَثَةُ أَيَّامٍ فَمَنْ أَرَادَ اَلصَّوْمَ لَمْ يَصُمْ حَتَّى تَمْضِيَ اَلثَّلاَثَةُ اَلْأَيَّامِ وَ اَلنَّحْرُ بِالْأَمْصَارِ يَوْمٌ فَمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَصُومَ صَامَ مِنَ اَلْغَدِ ».

hadith 1208

Hadith.4422 - And Al-Hasan ibn Mahbub narrated from Muawiyah ibn Wahb and others of our companions, from Abu Abdullah (as). He said

I asked Imam (as) about a believing man marrying a Jewish or Christian woman. Imam (as) replied: "If he has access to a Muslim woman, what need does he have for a Jewish or Christian woman?" I said: "He may have affection for her." Imam (as) said: "If he does so, then he must prevent her from drinking wine and eating pork, and know that there is a deficiency in his religion for marrying her."

4422 - وَ رَوَى اَلْحَسَنُ بْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ وَ غَيْرِهِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اَلرَّجُلِ اَلْمُؤْمِنِ يَتَزَوَّجُ اَلْيَهُودِيَّةَ وَ اَلنَّصْرَانِيَّةَ فَقَالَ "إِذَا أَصَابَ اَلْمُسْلِمَةَ فَمَا يَصْنَعُ بِالْيَهُودِيَّةِ وَ اَلنَّصْرَانِيَّةِ " قُلْتُ يَكُونُ لَهُ فِيهَا اَلْهَوَى قَالَ "فَإِنْ فَعَلَ فَلْيَمْنَعْهَا مِنْ شُرْبِ اَلْخَمْرِ وَ أَكْلِ لَحْمِ اَلْخِنْزِيرِ وَ اِعْلَمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِ فِي دِينِهِ فِي تَزْوِيجِهِ إِيَّاهَا غَضَاضَةً".

hadith 1223

Hadith.4437 - And it is narrated from Al-Hasan ibn Mahbub, from Malik ibn Atiyyah, from Abu Abdullah (as) who said

"A woman cannot be married alongside her maternal aunt, but the maternal aunt can be married alongside the daughter of her sister."

4437 - وَ رَوَى اَلْحَسَنُ بْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

"لاَ تَتَزَوَّجُ اَلْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى خَالَتِهَا وَ تُزَوَّجُ اَلْخَالَةُ عَلَى اِبْنَةِ أُخْتِهَا".

Hadith.3385 - It is narrated from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr, from Hisham ibn Salim, from Abu Abdullah (as): Regarding a man who appointed another as his agent (wakil) for a matter and had two witnesses testify to the appointment, the agent then proceeded to act upon the matter. Meanwhile, the principal declared, "Witness that I have dismissed so-and-so from the agency." Imam (as) said

"If the agent had executed the matter before being dismissed from the agency, then the action remains valid and binding, whether the principal is pleased with it or not." I asked: "What if the agent completed the action before learning of the dismissal or being informed that he had been removed from the agency?" Imam (as) replied: "Yes, the action stands as valid." I then asked: "What if the agent received notice of dismissal before carrying out the matter, but proceeded with it anyway?" Imam (as) said: "Then the action is invalid." Imam (as) added: "An agent, once appointed, retains authority as long as he is not informed of the dismissal by a trustworthy source or directly notified in person of the termination of the agency."

3385 - وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ

فِي رَجُلٍ وَكَّلَ آخَرَ عَلَى وَكَالَةٍ فِي أَمْرٍ مِنَ اَلْأُمُورِ وَ أَشْهَدَ لَهُ بِذَلِكَ شَاهِدَيْنِ فَقَامَ اَلْوَكِيلُ فَخَرَجَ لِإِمْضَاءِ اَلْأَمْرِ فَقَالَ اِشْهَدُوا أَنِّي قَدْ عَزَلْتُ فُلاَناً عَنِ اَلْوَكَالَةِ فَقَالَ "إِنْ كَانَ اَلْوَكِيلُ أَمْضَى اَلْأَمْرَ اَلَّذِي وُكِّلَ عَلَيْهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُعْزَلَ عَنِ اَلْوَكَالَةِ فَإِنَّ اَلْأَمْرَ وَاقِعٌ مَاضٍ عَلَى مَا أَمْضَاهُ اَلْوَكِيلُ كَرِهَ اَلْمُوَكِّلُ أَمْ رَضِيَ" قُلْتُ فَإِنَّ اَلْوَكِيلَ أَمْضَى اَلْأَمْرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَعْلَمَ بِالْعَزْلِ أَوْ يَبْلُغَهُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ عُزِلَ عَنِ اَلْوَكَالَةِ فَالْأَمْرُ عَلَى مَا أَمْضَاهُ قَالَ "نَعَمْ" قُلْتُ فَإِنْ بَلَغَهُ اَلْعَزْلُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُمْضِيَ اَلْأَمْرَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ حَتَّى أَمْضَاهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ قَالَ "نَعَمْ إِنَّ اَلْوَكِيلَ إِذَا وُكِّلَ ثُمَّ قَامَ عَنِ اَلْمَجْلِسِ فَأَمْرُهُ مَاضٍ أَبَداً وَ اَلْوَكَالَةُ ثَابِتَةٌ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَهُ اَلْعَزْلُ عَنِ اَلْوَكَالَةِ بِثِقَةٍ يُبَلِّغُهُ أَوْ يُشَافَهَ بِالْعَزْلِ عَنِ اَلْوَكَالَةِ".

hadith 244

Hadith.3386 - It is narrated from Hammad, from Al-Halabi, from Abu Abdullah (as): Regarding a man to whom a woman entrusted her affairs-whether she was a relative or a neighbor-and he did not know her internal situation, and later discovered that she had concealed a defect: Imam (as) said

"The dowry is to be taken from her, and the man who married her is not held liable." He also said regarding a woman who entrusted her affairs to a man and said: "Marry me to so-and-so." The man replied: "I will not marry you until you testify that your affair is in my hands." She testified to this, and during the marriage contract, the man said to the suitor, "O so-and-so, upon you is such-and-such (as a condition)." The suitor replied: "Yes." The man then said to the witnesses, "Bear witness that this is due to her from me, and I have married her to myself." The woman then declared, "I never intended to marry you, nor do I accept such a marriage. My affair is in my own hands, and I only entrusted you out of modesty in speaking." Imam (as) said: "She is to be separated from him, and he is to be disciplined for his conduct."

3386 - وَ رَوَى حَمَّادٌ عَنِ اَلْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ : فِي رَجُلٍ وَلَّتْهُ اِمْرَأَةٌ أَمْرَهَا إِمَّا ذَاتُ قَرَابَةٍ أَوْ جَارَةٌ لَهُ لاَ يَعْلَمُ دَخِيلَةَ أَمْرِهَا فَوَجَدَهَا قَدْ دَلَّسَتْ عَيْباً هُوَ بِهَا قَالَ "يُؤْخَذُ اَلْمَهْرُ مِنْهَا وَ لاَ يَكُونُ عَلَى اَلَّذِي زَوَّجَهَا شَيْءٌ" وَ قَالَ فِي اِمْرَأَةٍ وَلَّتْ أَمْرَهَا رَجُلاً فَقَالَتْ زَوِّجْنِي فُلاَناً قَالَ لاَ زَوَّجْتُكِ حَتَّى تُشْهِدِي بِأَنَّ أَمْرَكِ بِيَدِي فَأَشْهَدَتْ لَهُ فَقَالَ عِنْدَ اَلتَّزْوِيجِ لِلَّذِي يَخْطُبُهَا يَا فُلاَنُ عَلَيْكَ كَذَا وَ كَذَا قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ هُوَ لِلْقَوْمِ اِشْهَدُوا أَنَّ ذَلِكَ لَهَا عِنْدِي وَ قَدْ زَوَّجْتُهَا مِنْ نَفْسِي فَقَالَتِ اَلْمَرْأَةُ مَا كُنْتُ أَتَزَوَّجُكَ وَ لاَ كَرَامَةَ وَ لاَ أَمْرِي إِلاَّ بِيَدِي وَ مَا وَلَّيْتُكَ أَمْرِي إِلاَّ حَيَاءً مِنَ اَلْكَلاَمِ قَالَ "تُنْزَعُ مِنْهُ وَ يُوجَعُ رَأْسُهُ".

Shaykh Muḥammad b. ʿAlī al-Ṣaduq

Hadith.3403 - It is narrated from Dawud ibn al-Husayn, from Abu al-Abbas, from Abu Abdullah (as)

I asked him about a man who guarantees (takes responsibility for) another man's presence until a specified time, and if he does not bring him, he will owe such-and-such amount of dirhams. Imam (as) said: "If he brings him by the specified time, then he is not liable for what he mentioned, and he remains a guarantor for his presence indefinitely unless he begins with the dirhams. If he begins with the dirhams, then he is liable for them if he does not bring him by the specified time he had set."

3403 - وَ رَوَى دَاوُدُ بْنُ اَلْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ أَبِي اَلْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اَلرَّجُلِ يَتَكَفَّلُ بِنَفْسِ اَلرَّجُلِ إِلَى أَجَلٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَأْتِ بِهِ فَعَلَيْهِ كَذَا وَ كَذَا دِرْهَماً قَالَ "إِنْ جَاءَ بِهِ إِلَى اَلْأَجَلِ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ مَا قَالَ وَ هُوَ كَفِيلٌ بِنَفْسِهِ أَبَداً إِلاَّ أَنْ يَبْدَأَ بِالدَّرَاهِمِ فَإِنْ بَدَأَ بِالدَّرَاهِمِ فَهُوَ لَهَا ضَامِنٌ إِنْ لَمْ يَأْتِ بِهِ إِلَى اَلْأَجَلِ اَلَّذِي أَجَّلَهُ".

hadith 1400

Hadith.1406 - It is narrated from ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Ya’fur that Abu ‘Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said

"Seek forgiveness from Allah (swt) during the Witr prayer seventy times, while raising your left hand and counting the invocations with your right hand. The Messenger of Allah (sw) and his family, used to seek forgiveness from Allah (swt) in the Witr prayer seventy times and would say, 'This is the position of one seeking refuge in You from the Fire,' seven times."

1406 - وَ رَوَى عَبْدُ اَللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

«اِسْتَغْفِرِ اَللَّهَ فِي اَلْوَتْرِ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً تَنْصِبُ يَدَكَ اَلْيُسْرَى وَ تَعُدُّ بِالْيُمْنَى اَلاِسْتِغْفَارَ وَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ يَسْتَغْفِرُ اَللَّهَ فِي اَلْوَتْرِ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً وَ يَقُولُ» «هَذَا مَقَامُ اَلْعَائِذِ بِكَ مِنَ اَلنَّارِ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ.

hadith 1401

Hadith.1407 - It is narrated from ‘Abdullah ibn Sinan that Abu ‘Abdullah (Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said

"You may supplicate against the enemy during the Witr prayer, and if you wish, you may name them specifically. You should seek forgiveness, raising your hands during the Witr prayer level with your face, or, if you wish, you may open your cloak (covering) while doing so”.

1407 - وَ رَوَى عَبْدُ اَللَّهِ بْنُ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

«تَدْعُو فِي اَلْوَتْرِ عَلَى اَلْعَدُوِّ وَ إِنْ شِئْتَ سَمَّيْتَهُمْ وَ تَسْتَغْفِرُ وَ تَرْفَعُ يَدَيْكَ فِي اَلْوَتْرِ حِيَالَ وَجْهِكَ وَ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَتَحْتَ ثَوْبَكَ.

hadith 522

Hadith.522 - it was narrated from Mehran ibn Muhammad that Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said

"When a person dies, Allah (swt), the Exalted and Glorious, sends an angel to the one among their family who is most deeply affected by the loss. The angel touches their heart and alleviates the intensity of grief. If it were not for this, the world would not be able to continue”.

522 - وَ رَوَى مِهْرَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ اَلصَّادِقِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «إِنَّ اَلْمَيِّتَ إِذَا مَاتَ بَعَثَ اَللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَلَكاً إِلَى أَوْجَعِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى قَلْبِهِ فَأَنْسَاهُ لَوْعَةَ اَلْحُزْنِ لَوْ لاَ ذَلِكَ لَمْ تُعْمَرِ اَلدُّنْيَا.

hadith 216

Hadith.1787 - It is narrated by al-Fudhayl ibn Yasar from Abu Abdullah (Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as)) who said

"When one of you fasts the three days of the month, let him not dispute with anyone, act ignorantly, or hasten to take oaths by Allah (swt). If someone acts ignorantly toward him, let him endure it."

1787 - وَ رَوَى اَلْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

«إِذَا صَامَ أَحَدُكُمُ اَلثَّلاَثَةَ اَلْأَيَّامَ مِنَ اَلشَّهْرِ فَلاَ يُجَادِلَنَّ أَحَداً وَ لاَ يَجْهَلْ وَ لاَ يُسْرِعْ إِلَى اَلْحَلْفِ وَ اَلْأَيْمَانِ بِاللَّهِ فَإِنْ جَهِلَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ فَلْيَحْتَمِلْ ».

Hadith.1810 - It is narrated by Abdullah ibn al-Mughira from Salim, from Abu Abdullah (Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as)), who said

"The Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) bequeathed solely to Ali (as), and Ali (as) bequeathed jointly to al-Hasan (as) and al-Husayn (as). Al-Hasan (as) was the Imam during his time. A man entered upon al-Hasan (as) on the Day of Arafah and found him having lunch, while al-Husayn (as) was fasting. After al-Hasan (as) passed away, the same man entered upon al-Husayn (as) on the Day of Arafah and found him having lunch, while Ali ibn al-Husayn (as) was fasting. The man said to Imam: 'I came to al-Hasan (as) when he was having lunch, and you were fasting. Then I came to you, and now you are not fasting.' Imam (as) replied: 'Al-Hasan (as) was the Imam, so he broke his fast to ensure his fasting would not be taken as a Sunnah and followed by others. When he passed away, I became the Imam, and I did not want my fasting to be taken as a Sunnah and followed by others.'"

1810 - وَ رَوَى عَبْدُ اَللَّهِ بْنُ اَلْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

«أَوْصَى رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ وَحْدَهُ وَ أَوْصَى عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ إِلَى اَلْحَسَنِ وَ اَلْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِمَا اَلسَّلاَمُ جَمِيعاً وَ كَانَ اَلْحَسَنُ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ إِمَامَهُ فَدَخَلَ رَجُلٌ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ عَلَى اَلْحَسَنِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ وَ هُوَ يَتَغَدَّى وَ اَلْحُسَيْنُ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ صَائِمٌ ثُمَّ جَاءَ بَعْدَ مَا قُبِضَ اَلْحَسَنُ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَى اَلْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ وَ هُوَ يَتَغَدَّى وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ اَلْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِمَا اَلسَّلاَمُ صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ اَلرَّجُلُ إِنِّي دَخَلْتُ عَلَى اَلْحَسَنِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ وَ هُوَ يَتَغَدَّى وَ أَنْتَ صَائِمٌ ثُمَّ دَخَلْتُ عَلَيْكَ وَ أَنْتَ مُفْطِرٌ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ اَلْحَسَنَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ كَانَ إِمَاماً فَأَفْطَرَ لِئَلاَّ يُتَّخَذَ صَوْمُهُ سُنَّةً وَ لِيَتَأَسَّى بِهِ اَلنَّاسُ فَلَمَّا أَنْ قُبِضَ كُنْتُ أَنَا اَلْإِمَامَ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ لاَ يُتَّخَذَ صَوْمِي سُنَّةً فَيَتَأَسَّى اَلنَّاسُ بِي».

hadith 246

Hadith.1817 - It is narrated by al-Mufaddal ibn Umar from Abu Abdullah (Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as)), who said

"Fasting on the Day of Ghadir Khumm is an expiation for sixty years."

1817 - وَ رَوَى اَلْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ

«صَوْمُ يَوْمِ غَدِيرِ خُمٍّ كَفَّارَةُ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً.
