“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one drinks wine his Salat (prayer) is not accepted for forty days.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A wine addict will meet Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, as a worshipper of idols will do.’”

Regarding the marriage of ‘Umm Kulthum, he said: "It was an honour coerced from us."

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who in the state of Ihram sleeps with a Zamilah (wrapping) on his face. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’”

“Giving Sadaqah at night keeps away unpleasant death and seventy types of calamities.”

he said that The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) who said: “Allah showers mercy on the father who helps his son in doing good. He showers mercy on a person who helps his neighbor in doing good. One who helps his friend in doing good Allah showers mercy on the former. Similarly one who helps his companion in doing good, Allah showers mercy on the former too. Also one who helps his master in doing good, Allah showers mercy on that person.”

“Before the appearance of al-Qa’im there will be five signs; the rising of as-Sufyani, the rising of al-Yamani, a cry from the Heaven, killing the pure innocent man and sinking in the desert.”

“Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) had said: “Before the rising of al-Qa’im there will be some signs, with which Allah tries His faithful people.” I said: “What are they?” He said: “It is the saying of Allah, “And We will most certainly try you with somewhat of fear and hunger and loss of property and lives and fruits; and give good news to the patient.” When Allah says (We will try you) He means the believers, when He says (with somewhat of fear), He refers to the fright that is caused at the end of the rule of the family of so-and-so, (hunger) is because of expensive prices, (loss of property) is corruption of trade and littleness of profits, (lives) is quick deaths, (fruits) is little production of plants and little blessing of fruits and (give good news to the patient) when al-Qa’im appears.” Then he said to me: “O Muhammad, this is the interpretation of the verse. Allah says, “But none knows its interpretation except Allah and those who are firmly rooted in knowledge.”

“When al-Qa’im appears, he will send a man to every country of the world. He will say to him: “Your covenant is in your hand. Whenever a matter faces you that you do not understand or do not know how to judge on it, you are to look at (the covenant in) your hand and act according to it.” Then he will send an army to Constantinople. When the army reaches the sea, the soldiers will write on their feet something and will walk on the surface of the water. When the Romans see them walk on the water, they will say: “These are his companions walking on the water so how about him?” Then they will open to them the gates of the city. They enter the city and rule as they like.”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who want to be honoured by Allāh and to be included in the intercession of Muḥammad (s.a.a.w.) on the Day of Judgment should go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.). (By doing so) Allāh will honour them with the best of honours and rewards and He will not question them for any sins they have committed during their life, even if they are as great (in number) as the grains of sand, the scum in the seas, or the mountains of Tihāmah. Verily Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) was wronged and killed unjustly while he, his family, and his companions were thirsty.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who miss (the opportunity of) spending the Day of ‘Arafah in ‘Arafāt, but instead spend that day next to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), have not missed it. Verily (on the Day of ‘Arafah), Allāh, the Blessed and the Exalted, starts with the people who are next to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) before the people who are in ‘Arafāt and then He mixes them with Himself.

Ja’far ibn Muḥammad Al-Sādiq (a.s.) said: Allāh will forgive the past and future sins of those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’bān. Allāh will register the reward of one thousand accepted Hajj and one thousand purified ‘Umrah for those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Arafah. Those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Āshūrā, it is as if they have gone to the Ziyārah of Allāh on top of His Throne. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far, from his father ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ḥimyari, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain, from Ḥamdān ibn Mu’āfā, from Ibn Abī ‘Umayr, from Zayd Al-Shaḥḥām, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)).

Ja’far ibn Muḥammad (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Allāh will forgive the past and future sins of those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’bān. Allāh will register the reward of one thousand accepted Hajj and one thousand purified ‘Umrah for those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Arafah. Those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Āshūrā, it is as if they have gone to the Ziyārah of Allāh on top of His Throne.

I said to Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “When we go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), how should we establish prayers next to him?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Stand behind the grave near his shoulders and then send blessing on the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) and send blessing on Ḥusain (a.s.).”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said (as part of a longer Ḥadīth): After saying Salām to the martyrs, come (back) to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) and face the grave and establish as many prayers as possible.

Did he say: «The blemish of a believer upon another believer is forbidden»? He said: Yes. I said: Does he mean the two lower organs (of him). He said: It is not as you think. It is only the disclosure of his secret.

“Light means the Imam that you would follow.”

“‘Abd al-Muttalib is the first one who believer in Bada’ (Allah’s revised will). He will be resurrected as a whole nation. He will have an august presence like kings and a countenance like that of the prophets.”

“Fatima remained (alive) after (the death of) the Messenger of Allah (sw) for seventy-five days. She experienced profound sorrow for her father. Jibril (a.s.) would visit her, console her over her father's loss, comfort her heart, inform her about her father and his whereabouts, and inform her of what would happen to her offspring after her. Ali (a.s.) used to document this.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘I come to the Imam when he is one Rak‘at ahead of me in the morning Salah (prayer). When he says Sal am (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) I, thinking to have completed, remain speaking of Allah until sunrise. At sunrise I stood up and remembered that the Imam was one Rak‘at ahead of me.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘If you are still in your place, complete it with one Rak‘at but if you have moved away, perform your Salah (prayer) again.’”
