Hadith 175

22-3 Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Waleed - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan al-Saffar quoted on the authority of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, on theauthority of Bakr ibn Salih al-Razi, on the authority of Abi Salt al-Harawi, “
I asked Al-Ridha (s) about faith. He (s) said, ‘Faith is belief in the heart, expression by the tongue and enacting by the body parts. Anything else would not be faith.’”
3 - حَدَّثَنا مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الحَسَن بْنِ أَحْمَدِ بْنِ الوَلِيد رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: حَدَّثَنا مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الحَسَن الصَفَّار عَن أَحْمَدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَن بَكْرِ بْنِ صالِح الرَّازِيُّ، عَن أَبي الصَّلْتِالهَرَوِيِّ قالَ
سَأَلْت الرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ، عَنِ الإِيمان فَقالَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: الإِيمان عَقدٌ بِالقَلب وَلَفظٌ بِاللِّسانِ وَعَمَلٌ بِالجَوارِح لا يَكُونُ الإيمانُ إِلاّ هكَذا.
