Hadith 990
۞
1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to me by Abdillah b. Ja’far al-Himyari from Ahmad b. Muhammad from al-Hassan b. Mahbub from Malik b. ’Atiyyah from Abi Hamzah al-Thumali from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said
When extra-marital sex becomes common, the number of deaths increase suddenly. When cheating increases much, Allah involves people in drought and loss. When people stop paying Zakat, the Almighty Allah stops abundance of crops and yield from earth. When injustice spreads, people start helping each other in unjust causes and when promises are broken, Allah leaves them at the mercy of their enemies. When relations are broken, wealth is handed over to evil people. When people are not called towards good and are not stopped from doing evil and when the virtuous among our Ahle Bait (a.s.) are not obeyed, the Almighty Allah will give their control to evil people. At that time, virtuous people will pray but their prayers will not be accepted.”
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْیَرِیُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ مَالِکِ بْنِ عَطِیَّهَ عَنْ أَبِی حَمْزَهَ الثُّمَالِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ
أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَیْسَتْ سَنَهٌ أَمْطَرَ مِنْ سَنَهٍ وَ لَکِنْ یَصِفُهُ [یَضَعُهُ] حَیْثُ یَشَاءُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِذَا عَمِلَ قَوْمٌ بِالْمَعَاصِی صَرَفَ عَنْهُمْ مَا کَانَ قَدَّرَ لَهُمْ مِنَ الْمَطَرِ فِی تِلْکَ السَّنَهِ إِلَی غَیْرِهَا مِنَ الْفَیَافِی وَ الْبِحَارِ وَ الْجِبَالِ وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَیُعَذِّبُ الْجُعَلَ فِی جُحْرِهَا یَحْبِسُ الْمَطَرَ عَنِ الْأَرْضِ لخطإ [لِخَطَایَا] مَنْ بحضرته [بِحَضْرَتِهَا] وَ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ السَّبِیلَ وَ الْمَسْلَکَ إِلَی مَحَلِّ أَهْلِ الطَّاعَهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع فَاعْتَبِرُوا یا أُولِی الْأَبْصارِ وَ الْأَلْبَابِ- ثُمَّ قَالَ وَجَدْنَا فِی کِتَابِ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا ظَهَرَ الزِّنَاءُ کَثُرَ مَوْتُ الْفَجْأَهِ وَ إِذَا طُفِّفَ الْمِکْیَالُ أَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِالسِّنِینَ وَ النَّقْصِ وَ إِذَا مَنَعُوا الزَّکَاهَ مَنَعَتِ الْأَرْضُ بَرَکَتَهَا مِنَ الزَّرْعِ وَ الثِّمَارِ وَ الْمَعَادِنِ وَ إِذَا جَارُوا فِی الْأَحْکَامِ وَ تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَی الظُّلْمِ وَ الْعُدْوَانِ وَ إِذَا نَقَضُوا الْعُهُودَ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِمْ عَدُوَّهُمْ وَ إِذَا قَطَّعُوا الْأَرْحَامَ جُعِلَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ فِی أَیْدِی أَشْرَارِهِمْ وَ إِذَا لَمْ یَأْمُرُوا بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَ لَمْ یَنْهَوْا عَنْ مُنْکَرٍ وَ لَمْ یَتَّبِعُوا الْأَخْیَارَ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَیْتِی سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِمْ أَشْرَارَهُمْ فیدعوا [فَیَدْعُو] أَخْیَارُهُمْ فَلَا یُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ.
