2. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to me by Abdillah b. Ja’far from Muhammad b. al-Hussain from al-Hassan b. Mahbub from Aban from al-Muffadhal from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said
“A person who claims to be an Imam while he is not, is an infidel.”
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ
مَنِ ادَّعَی الْإِمَامَهَ وَ لَیْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا فَهُوَ کَافِرٌ.
