1. The narrator says that Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) told him, “O Mualla! Even if one prays between rukn and maqaam for a hundred years continuously, fasting during the day and passing nights in Qiyam and prostrating so much so that his brows hang in front of his eyes, his back stoops but he is unaware of our rights, there is no reward for him.”
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ مُوسَی عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَمَّنْ ذَکَرَهُ عَنِ الْخَثْعَمِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی الصَّامِتِ عَنِ الْمُعَلَّی بْنِ خُنَیْسٍ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَا مُعَلَّی لَوْ أَنَّ عَبْداً عَبَدَ اللَّهَ مِائَهَ عَامٍ بَیْنَ الرُّکْنِ وَ الْمَقَامِ یَصُومُ نَهَاراً وَ یَقُومُ لَیْلًا حَتَّی یَسْقُطَ حَاجِبَاهُ عَلَی عَیْنَیْهِ وَ تَلْتَقِیَ تَرَاقِیهِ هوما [هَرَماً] جَاهِلًا بِحَقِّنَا لَمْ یَکُنْ لَهُ ثَوَابٌ.
