2. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “One who repents a year before his death, Allah will forgive him.” Then he said, “A year is too much; Allah will forgive even one who repents a month before his death.” Then he said, “A month is also too much, Allah will forgive even one who repents a day before his death. Then he said, “A day is also too much, Allah will forgive even one who repents just a moment before death.”
أَبِی ره عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ یَعْقُوبَ بْنِ یَزِیدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِی عُمَیْرٍ عَنْ سَلَمَهَ بَیَّاعِ السَّابِرِیِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ تَابَ فِی سَنَهٍ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ السَّنَهَ لَکَثِیرَهٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ تَابَ فِی شَهْرٍ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّهْرَ لَکَثِیرٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ تَابَ فِی یَوْمِهِ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ یَوْماً لَکَثِیرٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ تَابَ إِذَا بَلَغَتْ نَفْسُهُ هَذِهِ یَعْنِی حَلْقَهُ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِ.
