2. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to me by Abdillah b. Ja’far al-Himyari from Muhammad b. al-Hussain b. Abi al-Khattab from al-Hassan b. Mahbub from Ali b. Riyab from Abi al-Ward from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said
"Whoever defends and supports his believing brother when he is being backbitten, Allah will support him in this world and the Hereafter. But whoever does not defend him, nor support him, nor repel the backbiting while he has the ability to do so, Allah will abase him in this world and the Hereafter."
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْیَرِیُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ أَبِی الْخَطَّابِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ أَبِی الْوَرْدِ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ
مَنِ اغْتِیبَ عِنْدَهُ أَخُوهُ الْمُؤْمِنُ فَنَصَرَهُ وَ أَعَانَهُ نَصَرَهُ اللَّهُ فِی الدُّنْیَا وَ الْآخِرَهِ وَ مَنِ اغْتِیبَ عِنْدَهُ أَخُوهُ الْمُؤْمِنُ فَلَمْ یَنْصُرْهُ وَ لَمْ یُعِنْهُ وَ لَمْ یَدْفَعْ عَنْهُ وَ هُوَ یَقْدِرُ عَلَی نُصْرَتِهِ وَ عَوْنِهِ إِلَّا خَفَضَهُ اللَّهُ فِی الدُّنْیَا وَ الْآخِرَهِ.
