Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: When Allāh intends to humiliate a person He denies him knowledge. ٢٨٨. وَقَالَ (عليه السلام): إِذَا أَرْذَلَ اللهُ عَبْداً حَظَرَعَلَيْهِ الْعِلْمَ. Similar narrations Ghurar al-Ḥikam #5946 Imam Ali (AS) said, When Allah humiliates (or abases) a servant, He denies him knowledge. Mīzān al-Ḥikma #2176 Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘When Allah wishes to repudiate someone, he deprives him of knowledge.
