Imam al-Sadiq (AS) used to say, ‘O Allah verily the fact that You are worthy of pardoning [sins] gives You the upper hand over me because of my being worthy of punishment.
الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) ـ كانَ يَقولُ ـ: اللّهُمَّ إنَّكَ بِما أنتَ لَهُ أهلٌ مِنَ العَفوِ ، أولى مِنّي بِما أنا لَهُ أهلٌ مِنَ العُقوبَةِ .
