It is narrated in Bihar al-Anwar: Allah, most High, revealed to Prophet David (AS) said, ‘
O David, verily … I have placed Honor in My obedience whilst they seek it in servitude to the ruler and do not find it therefore.
أوحَى اللّهُ تَعالى إلى داوودَ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): يا داوودُ ، إنّي ... وَضَعتُ العِزَّ في طاعَتي ، وهُم يَطلُبونَهُ في خِدمَةِ السُّلطانِ فلا يَجِدونَهُ.
