In Al-Mahasin it is narrated that Imam Baqir (a.s) narrated on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s)
“I advise my present and future nation up until the Resurrection Day to visit the relations of kin even if they have to walk for one year to get to them since this is a part of our religion.”
من كتاب المحاسن: عن الباقر (عليه السلام) قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): أوصي الشاهد من أمتي والغائب منهم، ومن في أصلاب الرجال وأرحام النساء إلى يوم القيامة، أن يصل الرحم وإن كانت منه على مسيرة سنة، فإن ذلك من الدين.
