Hadith 578

Hadith.5548 - Muhammad ibn Ya'qub Al-Kulayni, may Allah (swt) be pleased with him, narrated from Humayd ibn Ziyad from Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn Sama'ah from Abdullah ibn Jabalah and others from Ishaq ibn Ammar from Abu Basir from Abu Abdullah (as), who said
"Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as), freed the worst of his servants at the time of his death and kept the best of them.
I (Al-Sadiq (as)) said to him (Al-Baqir (as)): 'O' my father, you are freeing these and keeping those?'
He (Al Baqir (as)) replied: ''They have suffered beatings from me, so this is to balance that (their wrongdoings).'"
5548 - رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ اَلْكُلَيْنِيُّ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ اَلْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَمَاعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ وَ غَيْرِهِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
"أَعْتَقَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ مِنْ غِلْمَانِهِ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ شِرَارَهُمْ وَ أَمْسَكَ خِيَارَهُمْ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَا أَبَتِ تُعْتِقُ هَؤُلاَءِ وَ تُمْسِكُ هَؤُلاَءِ فَقَالَ "إِنَّهُمْ قَدْ أَصَابُوا مِنِّي ضَرْباً فَيَكُونُ هَذَا بِهَذَا" ".
